I got these nice grips. The correct name would be K-frame RB presentation target grips I beleive.
But the fit is not so good. At least not on my 696. This 696 has seen many grips that does fit 100%, the problem lies in the grips.

But when the lower position holes would be relocated I think they would fit nicely. The curve of the grips and frame are the same.

Is this an original S&W with an incorrectly drilled position hole?
Or are there older K-frames that are that much different?
Or, ist this a product of DIY out of a square butt? I do not think so, the way the lacquer is just a bit over the edge on the inside is how I have seen on many original grips.

If these would fit an older type I would leave them as they are otherwise I relocate the holes.

The 696 is an L frame, and even though they are advertised to have "functionally identical" grip frames to K frames, you aren't the first to notice K frame grips are sometimes not. Joe

Well I repositioned the pin holes and it's a lot better now. Refinished with fresh new lacquer.
I still think they were positioned wrong as I have had many grips on without problems.

Although the plan was to sell and not to collect grips I do like them now and will shoot at least with these on my 696.
I have sold more and regretted later.
