Do any members have any experience or knowledge of the "Made In Thailand" grips That are being offered on several "Auction Sites" as far as fit, finish, etc? Many thanks for your help, input and wisdom!

I have four sets from Thailand, two just received this last month, both for round butt K frames. The fit on mine is excellent, the ones you are looking at don't appear to fit perfect, but are nice looking. The freight seems high, I paid less from a different seller. Look at some more choices before you commit.

Bought one over 10 years ago, the top of the grip area was wide, pounding my hand from the 686, not comfortable. Beautiful but in the grip box.

I have purchased several combat finger-groove grip sets from vitoonmakers, including N-round, N-square, and N-round-to-square. The fit and finish has been exceptional and while they take a while to make it stateside, they have all been well worth the money.

I've been curious to know how the K-round targets are from this maker, but I don't own a single round butt K-frame so I haven't bought a set.

In my opinion, vitoonmakers is one of the best aftermarket gripmakers out there, for about half the price of factory or prestige gripmakers that we all know of.

I’ve had a couple of pairs of grips from Thailand via eBay, but not from this seller. The grips provided by two other Thai sellers (one square K, one round J) are favorites of mine. Be aware that apparently the climate change coming to this country may make them shrink a little, so a minimal amount of fitting may be needed, but at the price point, they seem to be good to me. I’m on my old iPad now but will try to post pix later.

Got a pair of Thai targets to replace the Goodyears on my Model 66 a couple of years ago. The fit was very good - not perfect - but the grips I got were much lighter in color than the ones in the eBay add. Good buy at the price, though.

Here are some photos of my wife's Rossi 720 with grips I got off eBay from Thailand. I cannot recall which seller I purchased them from. The only fault was I had to very slightly modify the top corner of the left grip so that it would not touch the cylinder thumb release, but that was not an issue and unless I said something you wouldn't be able to see the alteration.

Maybe 7-8 years ago I purchased several sets of grips from Thailand off of ebay. The wood grain was excellent, the finish was fair, but the fit was so so on every pair - but workable. Over the years I moved them on to new homes. Hadn't bought another pair of them since... until about 3 weeks ago. I'd been wanting some wood grips for an HK PSP, but didn't want to fork over $100+ for a pair. I randomly did a search and found a real nice looking set on ebay for $65 shipped. They showed up earlier this week. The wood grain was excellent, finish was fair, fit was so so lol. That said, about 2 minutes with some really fine sandpaper, and a couple of coats of tru oil, and I'm quite happy with them and think they've found their forever home ;).

Here’s the picture I promised. The Thai woodworkers occasionally offer this very dark wood that reminds me of African Ebony, but I’ve been told is an Asian Rosewood. Whatever it is, it shows nicely on a stainless revolver, and I like the smooth finger groove combats. These are unusual in that unlike Smith’s factory grips, they enclose the back strap completely. I like the extra depth, front to back.

I was browsing through some of their other grips and saw these. I thought they had nice looking grips at inexpensive prices, but apparently not all are cheaper. These really look nice, and I have seen many pairs of Culina grips that I think look just as good if not better, but..........??

COMBAT GRIPS FIT S&W 686 K, L FRAME SQUARE BUTT PADAUK CURLY BURL WOOD GIFT # 1 | eBay

Another set from the same seller.
Not quite as nice as the burled set but still very attractive at less than a 10th of the price.

I have previously communicated via eBay messaging with the owner at vitoonmakers regarding some of his grip sets occasionally showing astronomical prices like the one set linked above. He told me he sometimes does that to keep a particular set showing among his other offerings until he can make more of them. Once he has more of that specific type grip set available for sale, he lowers the price to a more reasonable and customary amount.

I thought something was odd about it. Thanks for the clarification.

I only have 1 set left. My K/L's are gone for whatever reason. My 625-8 {JM} wearing Thailand N round butt. They look & feel good! Bought them in 2015 when prices were decent. Bob

I bought four pairs of Thai N and K grips about eight years ago. I like them better than any others. At that time they were around $25 each, including shipping. I did have to perform minor fitting on two pair, but no big problems. All mine were smooth combat style, which I prefer. I don’t care much for checkered grips.

I have a couple sets and am considering another for RB 686.
My only complaint is the color. The ones I have are more orange than brown.

jaruwan.p was the eBay seller I used. The prices used to be better ($29 and even $19 one time during a sale). The grips are very nice hardwood and still look great 10 years later.
