Night Guard 310 10mm
I've been suffering from 10mm envy lately. This gun surely piques my interest but they seem to be unobtanium and the prices I've seen vary from $600 to $2500+ but no idea when these were sold.
What's the real story with these?
My interest is back country carry and cool gun ownership. And to prevent me from buying a Glock...

The Night Guard series was S&W's attempt at light weight defensive revolvers that were somewhat customized.
Had the combat rear sight with the Big Dot front. Scandium so real light. Came in several popular calibers.
Downfall was they appeared around 2010 when the wondernine craze hit. Couldn't compete and were around for a limited time.
I have a 315NG that is .38 Special. On a K Frame and is nice. This was the last caliber that rolled off and I believe only 580-some made due to production being halted. Grips are Spegel but I have the originals.
If you can find a 310 at $600 that is a heck of a bargain.

Night Guards
.
The first six Night Guards that appeared in 2008 at the SHOT Show were the 315NG, 325NG, 327NG, 329NG, 386NG, & 396NG.
The 310NG & 357NG were added in the 2009 catalog.
They weren't cheap, which didn't help their longevity either, but nice stuff never is.

I believe if I ran across one of those for $600, my wallet would be instantly lighter.

Yeah, I would be able to get my wallet out fast enough.

Thanks for posting those BLUEDOT37.
I had been led to believe the 315 was one of the last because of the low numbers.
Now I wonder why those production numbers were so low?
Guess I should have dug a little deeper.
Wish I had the box and documents with mine but sadly the previous owner didn't keep them.

Mine too, like I indicated, I can't see how old the auctions are. At $600, I would snarf one up as well

My search-fu only comes up with closed auctions. Minus the $2400 one on GB - I won't link to it for multiple reasons but it's there. My brother has the M&P actually, as does one of his friends - these are undoubtedly nice pistols and fun to shoot. I cut the handle off my toothbrush when backpacking so they don't really fit my bill
Thanks, everyone, for the info!

I am a 10mm aficionado. Own several, but have yet to acquire one in 10mm. I have looked at the model 610s for years, but always a few Benjis more than I want to pay. If I ever come across one in the sub $600 price range, I will likely jump on it. I do admit, I am willing to pay more for one now than I would have 10 years ago, but then again, I have more disposable funds now than then.

I don't own any 10mms, If I ever came across NG 10mm for $600 or so you can bet I would snap it up . I own a 296, a 396 and 2 325s. If you want a big bore carry revolver they are all top shelf

I am a BIG Fan of the Nightguard series of revolvers including the 310
My 310, like my 610 revolvers have all been chambered for the 10MM Magnum cartridge.
Obviously since rimless ammunition in most Smith & Wesson revolvers headspace on the moon clip, my revolvers are all capable of safely chambering and firing the 10MM Magnum, 10MM Auto and 40S&W cartridges
The Nightguards were a Great idea that came to us more than a decade too late. It was not just the 9MM craze that hurt them, it was the overall transition from concealed carrying of a revolver to an auto loader that hurt them.
Additionally, the Scandium alloy made them expensive
At the moment I own Model 310, 327 and 357 night guards. I had owned a 315NG and a 386NG but sold both off. The 7 shot Model 386NG was just too close in size to my 8 shot Model 327NG and I have never been a big fan of the L-frame anyway. With the 315NG 38 Special just did not do it for me and someone offered me something for trade that I really wanted, so I parted with it.

I believe that these models would sell better now than the era that they were in production.

I really wanted a Night Guard 357 (41 Mag.) when they came out. By the time I could afford one, they'd been discontinued and I couldn't afford the "no longer available" mark-up.
I wouldn't pass up any variant at the right price.

The caliber of my four NGs starts with .4x
.
I've added red ramps & white outline adjustable rear sights to several of my Night Guards.
