If you are still not happy with the results of whatever your fix was, then Bowen is the answer.
For your front sight they make a DX-type sight base that accepts the interchangeable blades. Yes it does require the services of a gunsmith in machining off the existing sight and base and milling a channel and drilling & tapping a hole for the new sight base. Well worth it in now being able to change your front sight blade at a whim. FO? Gold Bead? Patridge? Baughman Ramp? about 10 seconds to change out. Well worth the expense and effort.

Smith & Wesson DX Front Sight Base [P411] - $45.95 : +Parts Store+, Bowen Classic Arms
Now you need an equally impressive rear sight - Bowen has you covered there also. Rough Country rear sight - the finest made IMO.
S&W Rough Country Rear Sights : +Parts Store+, Bowen Classic Arms
The hardest part is finding them. Bowen is constantly "out of stock". I think he favors his gunsmith customers first, over the general public. So you need to find a gunsmith that carries Bowen parts.
Good luck with whatever you choose.
