625-4 3 inch .45 ACP
Does anybody know how many runs of the 625–4 with a 3 inch barrel in 45 ACP were made? I have a chance to pick one up at a local shop, for what I think is a pretty reasonable price, considering the amount of accessories, moonclips, and holsters that will be included with the sale.
Thanks

Good question
I have a 3” 625-3. I know they’re not easy to find and not cheap when you do. I got lucky and made a trade with a buddy who couldn’t live without my 3” 13-3. Mine came ANIB, having only been fired 6 rounds. He hated the moon clips.

I’d love to stumble across one in a shop here around me. The 3” 625 has been on my Grail gun list for a while now.
If you feel that it’s a reasonable price And it comes with a bunch of accessories I’d be all over it in a heartbeat before someone else was !
Good luck and post some photos if you get it .

The answer to the "how many were made" question would matter zero to me. 3" 625s are scarce and very desirable revolvers. Good deals on 3" N frames are seldom found.
If the price seems reasonable to you, and you want one, buy it.
It took me two years to find this reasonably priced 625-3.

I wanted a short barreled 45 acp revolver in 2005 and dealer couldn't locate one anywhere , in new condition ...
I ended up with a Taurus 455 , 5 shot 45 acp ...but wanted a S&W
They were impossible to find then so there must not be a lot out there !
Grab it ... a 45 acp revolver is a neat thing to have !

$1000 is a buy-it-right-dang-now kind of price. I see them regularly @ $1500 and up.

I figured that was a good price, but I’ve gave him some good deals before and he was supposed to let me know how much they wanted the same day and never got back with me so I believe it had sold already.

At $1000, I think that he was returning the favor on the good deals you gave him.
He could have easily sold it for $200-300 more. May have.

I’m saying he was on the lookout for one for me, it wasn’t even about the price, just by the time he remembered to tell me a price it was sold, as I was busy at work that day I believe. But I have a 27-2 3.5 inch I’m picking up I had on layaway so I wasn’t in the position really to get it at the time.

Sorry...my screw up. I hope you enjoy the 27. Beautiful revolvers, especially the 3 1/2". Sold mine years ago and have regretted it since

Not a problem sir! I lucked out and found one online for a great price, I’m hoping the manga carta grips are numbered to the gun, should get it within the next few weeks or so.

That is one great looking revolver. I don’t think I would be able to pass that one up. I can only imagine its value to continue to increase as well.

Well I got it. Home came with a bunch of goodies. I think I did quite well thanks to everyone who responded haven’t been doing much with smith’s lately. Maybe this will jumpstart me back in.

If you think it’s reasonable go for it.

Looking at the picture with all those extras, the 1st thing that came to mind is you NEED at least 2 more guns to use up those stocks & holsters! (I don't mind spending other people's money!)
All of the guns in this thread almost make me want to visit a couple gun shops to see what they have on the shelves.

Very nice! You certainly won't need any accessories.
I have a 4" 625 JM - it's not leaving.

I’d rather have a 3” than the 5” I own. But alas it was given to me by my father so it has to stay. If a man cottons to big girls its the one to have.

If you can find a 3" barrel, you can re-barrel it and put the 5"er away and it will still be the gun given to you by your father.

Someone else mentioned $1000 for another 3" 625. The OP hasn't mentioned how much he paid but I am guessing $500 and he is too modest to confirm.

I've had my 3" 625 for years, and it's a pleasure to shoot. Roy Fishpaw made the grips back around 1999 or 2000...

Congrats on you haul! I love the 625s! I have a 3", 4", and 2 5"! It appears you have enough full moon clips for a box+ of ammo. Load and unload your full moon clips at home in your spare time, not at the range when you are busy shooting! I don't know about the 2rd clips as I have never had any!

Just north of 1400 for the package. The clips are in stacks of 8. and 1 box of ammo as well.

My 625 Wonder
One of the most accurate revolvers I have is the S&W PC 625. This revolver also got me started on the Forum 5 years ago.
