Did my first GB / Auction deal ( With help and great tips from members here. )

This really is a great place.

Can't wait to try out my new 4" 500. I know threads about new toys are worthless without pics, so...

Just got her home. Box is a suitcase.

And the family shot...

Thats awsome, I want to own a S&W 500 one day but I keep trying to rationalize. WHAT THE HECK WILL I DO WITH THAT GUN? DO I REALLY WANT A GUN THAT COST A FORTUNE TO SOOT?

At any rate. I think your 500 is Uber cool especially since it came with the holster and ammo carrier.

Nice rig!!! You'll be able to carry that thing all day in those Colorado mountains! The green looks sharp...nice choice.

Thanks all.

Just got back from the range.
Had to play hookey after picking that one up.

No mistaking what caliber you're shooting with the 4" !!

Glove is required with full power loads.

Also reinforces without question, how the weight of the gun affects felt/percieved recoil.
Major difference between the scoped 8" gun and the 4" w/ irons.

Lot of fun shooting the 4". I wouldn't want to shoot a 329 (Scandium 44) with full power loads.

That extra weight really does make a difference! I finally got to shoot some other 500's to compare my John Ross model to, and you can really tell when you're missing that extra barrel weight...It's a trade off, though. The added weight that tames the beast is the same weight that keeps it from being handy.

I'm writing up a range report/review on the JR500 that I'll post shortly...it would be great to get more feedback on that 4 incher as you become more acquainted.
