I received my brand new gun from Midway USA and it looks like this (see pictures). I know they test fire guns, but it was so bad, that I had to take an eraser to remove soot to see the serial number. I did contact S&W and it has been returned, they are saying it will be 6-8 weeks before I get it back. I only had it 12 hours, I never shot it, this is what it looked like out of the box. There are markings from the machining when making the gun. There is a gouge in the barrel forcing cone. The trigger is flaking, too. Again, see pics. Is this acceptable? I am more of a collector, I don't typically shoot my guns. This will certainly be my last S&W purchase! I would have thought they would simply replace this with a new gun, since this is what it looked like out of the box. I don't think a repair is acceptable, what do you all think? This is their Performance Center guns, right around $1,700. It should not be shipped like this.

Now they say 6 to 8 weeks to refinish the whole
Frame on a brand new gun and they have had it for a month now 🤬
