Found a correct patch to go with my Royal Hong Kong Police "Customs and Excise" marked Smith and Wesson Model 10-7 revolver. I had a generic Customs and Excise patch, but felt it was used by all British Commonwealth Countries, still not sure but this one is right:
Note the crown on the patch, this shows it was used before Hong Kong was turned over to the Chinese in 1997.
Here's a pic of the butt of the revolver, showing the "C&E" marking. Serial number shows it was manufactured in July, 1987:
A pic of the revolver with both patches, revolver and correct lanyard:
The revolver is in like new condition, I've put maybe 50 rounds through it since acquiring it, I shoot my shabbier looking revolvers a lot more!
I'd love to see a picture of a Hong Kong Customs and Excise Officer in ubiform showing them with a revolver. All of the pictures I've found show the officers un-armed. From what I've found on the internet, the Customs and Excise Officers patrol the airport and harbor areas, where I would imagine the Officers not coming into contact with the traveling public would be well armed.
