Default Anyone used XS sights before?

What’s everyone’s thoughts on XS sights? Interested to hear from those that have used them. Did they improve accuracy? Quick sight acquisition? Easy install?

I have them on 3 of my handguns. Absolutely no complaints because they are brighter and bigger.

Quick sight picture for me. I tried to get some to have a gunsmith install them and they refuse to sell them for any platform for which they do not specifically make them. Apparently people were guesstimating what would work and then bellyaching about the outcome. I did not recall that being a thing when I put them on a duty pistol.

With my eyes, the big dot tritium system worked very well for fast and reasonably accurate placement. Your eyes may result in different outcomes.

I bought a used Glock 17 with a set of "Big Dot" sights on it. Very large white Dot front sight with tritium in center, and a wide "V" sight rear the width of the slide. IMHO< the best combat sight & worst target sight ever!

Bring the dot up and place it on the desired dead item and mash the trigger!. I got great groups like that at 10 yards. Slow aim, my wife couldn't hit a barn from inside with them. Switched back to stock factory sights to make her happy. Remember: Happy Wife, Happy Life!

I've got a set on my EDC CSX and for it's purpose, up close and personal defense, they are very quick. I also put a set on a Kahr P380 for the exact same reason. Very quick to acquire a "flash" sight picture. Put the BIG DOT where you want holes and they magically appear. I have found that being trained on traditional sights, I was overthinking the use of these sights and it was slowing me down. Once I relaxed and just pointed and pulled the trigger it became very quick to get center of mass hits at 15 yards and closer.

I might have to try these, front sight focus is pretty much gone for me and really don’t want optics an a carry gun.

I agree with everything said above (although I don't really understand Doug M.'s comments). I put them on every S&W I own that has a pinned front sight.

I am colorblind and red ramps don't stand out to me in most lighting conditions. But my eyes immediately lock on the XS's large white dot, and if I ever need it in complete darkness the glowing center works great too. I highly recommend.

I haven't loved them on the semi-autos pistols when I tried them, but I have a few on snubnose revolvers.

With my LCR, I was able to shoot tighter groups with the factory front blade/ramp sight, but the dot works better for quick sight acquisition at 10 yards and in. However, that's combining a square gutter sight with a round front sight.

My 442UC/642UC are easier to shoot at more than 10 yards due to having actual rear sights with a U-notch to match the dot. They're also easier to acquire because the green ring is brighter than the white one on the LCR

I got a set for Christmas to put on my 640. I got the standard dot not the Big Dot. Installation was pretty easy with the right punch. My old eyes were beginning to have trouble picking up the front sight. The XS sight took care of that, as it is easy to see. I did have to learn a new sight picture though.

By all means, let me know what I did not describe well and I'll try to clarify what I said.
