I am trying to decide what the differences are between the thunder ranch 45 acp model 22-4 and the recently offered "new" model 22.

1.other than the logo / different grips...and the weight...36.8 oz for model 22 and 37.5 ounces for trr 22-4

Any ideas?

2. From web articles it seems the 22-4 has tight tolerances of chamber throat of .452, presumably aiding accuracy...wonder if model 22 would be the same

They are both Model 22-4. As far as I know, the TR has a special S/N, Thunder Ranch marked grips, and a padded TR case but otherwise are the same.

I believe the non TR model is refered to as the Classic model. I have one in nickel. I prefer the retro-style service grips over the Thunder Ranch Magnas, although I do like Magnas more than Targets.

Mine is in the upper right. I also have the Lew Horton 25-14 3" 45 acp, upper left.
