I've heard three....

Federal is reintroducing the .38 Special Nyclad round.
Glock is coming out with some sort of new grip frame with a more course checkering/stippling.
Ruger is coming out with an alloy framed SP101.

Of course these are rumors, will have to wait to confirm.

I'm sure that there will be interesting items but in my view, it's getting harder and harder to produce real innovations, particularly in cartridges.

I have a hard time thinking of a big void in commercially available rounds that desperately needs filling. On the other hand, I'd be pleased to be proven wrong on that topic. Don

Looks like S&W will have the K38 in blue and nickel in 6 inch, the Model 57, the Model 17 and the Model 18 all in the classic line.

I believe S&W will have a 9mm 1911 in the Pro Series and a melonite finished Series 70 1911 .45 (no firing pin block).

I am sure there will be others, but those come to mind.

I used to have business travel that took me to the Cape Kennedy area and had times been right, would have gone to the SHOT Show but those days ended last year (local smith would get me a ticket) . Don

1 wonder if there is a secret law somewhere that won't allow a maker of 1911's to chamber them in .40 s&w. Why would anyone want a 1911 in 9mm? Also that law must not allow adjustable sights on commander size 1911's. Guess I'll have to build my own.

If I'm not mistaken, Rob Leatham, a pretty fair shooter by any standard, uses a 1911 type gun in 9mm. One would assume that he does that for more rapid recovery from recoil.

Don't know the answer to the .40 S&W in a 1911 frame, feed issues? Don

Rob Leatham uses 9mm and 38 Super 1911's because they hold more ammo.

I'd be interested in getting a 9mm 1911 for my wife. She's an avid target shooter and is deadly with her 41. She's uncomfortable handling calibers larger than 38 special. We've been talking about getting her a 952, but a 9mm 1911 might be a better choice. Somewhat cheaper, too, I'd wager

Anybody gonna be there, stop at the Second Amendment Foundation booth (# 5842) and say hello.
