The only thing wrong with that is the S&W logo is on the wrong side of the gun.

586 L Comp - Trigger & Action done by Mike Carmoney...known as having your action "Carmonized". Unfortunately he recently retired. I never knew it was possible to have a trigger like this on a revolver. Totally randomly lucked into it on Gunbroker. Had no idea what Carmonized meant. But now I will never forget. Anyone who has pulled the trigger on it is in awe.

I have a 686 SS 6" purchased new exactly 1 year to the day (02/18/93)before being married in 1994 and it is a "Rock Star". It has literally 500,000 + miles on trail bikes , my former airplane , pickups , baggage , snow , cold hot and etc. It shoots straight , is tough and if it were the only gun I could own...well , it will be available when I am dead. The 586/686 series is perfect in my opinion.

This has been posted before, but what the heck. This is my 586-4 that I use for SSR Division in IDPA. It is a Brazil contract 586 and therefore is chambered in .38 Special. Features unique to the Brazil Contract (second issue - 1997) are the barrel is nominally 4.2". The trigger and cylinder release are MIM. The second issue guns were manufactured 4 years after the first issue (1993), yet the first issue guns were 586-5's.
As modified: Wolff RP mainspring and 14# rebound spring. Smoothed action parts. Chamfered charge holes. Weigand Combat front sight base for DX blades. Hi-Viz green FO front sight. LPA rear target sight. Hogue/S&W yellow tamer grips (from X-frame survival kit).
Happy holidays!
Adios,
Pizza Bob

Did S&W make a lot of the 586s with a 8 3/8" barrel?
