I just ordered a Nemesis holster online. Am I going to like it or not? I intend to pocket carry my J frame with it.

I found it was a little too wide to fit in my pocket, so I will use my Uncle Mike's IWB until I buy new pants.

nemesis

I have one but it actually works better just droping my J frames in my pocket.

I had one, but sold my 642. It worked OK, but one time, the 642 slipped out of my pocket while I was sitting down at a wake! Nobody saw it, but I kind of lost faith in it. I was wearing a pair of dockers.

Mine fits my casual and dress pants pockets just fine, but is too large for jeans. For jeans, I change to a Mika or go IWB. IWB is preferred, because the jeans pocket size slows down presentation quite a bit.

I have three different pocket holsters to choose from, depending on what I'm wearing. Some are better for front pocket, some hip pocket. My Kramer gives a wallet profile, so is great for lightweight clothes. Use the Desantis for a while, then decide what other needs you have.

I don't like them, to me they are far too thick and bulky, as you can see in the pic below with comparison to a horse hide pocket holster. The reason for this is that they do not make one specifically for the S&W J frame. If you search out the catalog numbers and compare them, the number they list for a J frame is also the same holster for other guns, like small autos, etc. Although they make holsters for dozens of guns, they don't make dozens of different holsters.

Who made the horsehide holster you are modeling in the photo?

I bought one for my 442, and have only worn it with jeans so far. It does a good job of keeping the revolver stable, and in the right place, and I am sure that if I had to draw quickly, I could. That being said, when I am walking around with it, and happen to look down at my pocket, it looks like I have a brick in my front pocket (and it FEELS like I have a brick in my front pocket). I'm still experimenting.

That one is a Galco that I got used out of a bargain box, I think for $15. Several folks make them, and earlier today I was looking at them on a poster's website over on the CCW section. They looked pretty nice too.

I have a Uncle Mikes IWB holster and took
the plastic clip off. It's cheap and works for me.
I carry a Kel-Tec and starting today my new

The Nemesis is the best $15 I've ever spent.

I routinely carry my 442 in one. It works acceptably well in all of my pants - the only one with any real issue are two pairs of Dockers "Classic Khakis" which have rather small pockets. But it still works fine, it's just the limit.

No issues in regular Dockers, jeans, or cargo shorts.

I'm sure there are better pocket holsters out there for a J-Frame - but it's really hard to beat what you get for your money in a Nemesis (not to mention the widespread availability to boot).

I've done that also, and it makes a nice, small, waterproof package. However, it really does not met one basic requirement of a real pocket holster, and that is to stay in the pocket when you draw the gun out. With the converted Uncle Mike's IWB, the holster and gun come out together, and you have to dispose of the holster.

I have Nemesis holsters for my 642 and my M&P9c, both of which see pocket carry.

They work fine in my Dockers.

I also find that they make great 'protective sleeves' to store the guns in my Gun Vaults, locked glove box, etc.

You are absolutely correct, my,friend!

but for me, they work with carpenter jeans and shorts in all brands, colors & flavors. It is sort of a one size fits all criteria, but so far, it has worked for me!
