Default Laser Grips on a model 66

I just ordered off E-bay a NIB set of CT laser grips for my RB 66 4".Couldn't help it they only wanted $125 shipped for them. My question is what is the max distance they are usable for. And can you see them in day light? If they work well I may have to save up and put some on my J frame model 60.
