Hey y'all. Working on a new hobby involving stippling the detachable back straps of the M&P 9/40/357 and M&P Compacts (including .45).

I know there are a few people out here doing it...I have been chatting with others around here for ideas...thanks in advance!

Here are my first several designs - would love opinions and maybe even names for my new straps. Trying to get pattern ideas...and maybe even give a couple away so y'all could "model" them on your guns. Thanks!!!

Please provide feedback on my designs. Each one provides a different grip, has its own texture, and probably looks different on the guns.

#4 and #8 although they all look good. What kind of tips(on the soldering iron) did you use?

I'm using a wood burner. It came with eight different tips...I take turns using 4 of them. It's all about patience and experimenting. I bought a couple dozen back straps - "completed /destroyed" 10 so far...fun!

Make sure you are logged, then you can see them.

I'm still learning...and love feedback- even if it is about improvement.

It's saying they have been deleted. I'd love to "model" a set on my new M&P 40!

I can see them just fine. #8 is my favorite. You have some real talent! Those are so uniform and consistent on the pattern repeating.

What size and what pattern, I will make one for you tonight.
I use a large backstrap, but medium works if you don't have any large. Since I can't decide between 4 and 7, you pick. Let me know the price, and I'll send you a paypal gift.

No charge- you are helping me. All I want is an honest opinion.

Bad night...while making a medium, I burned my trigger finger and thumb! Now I'm in the ER with the wife! IM me you name and addy and I will mail it to you mañana.

Dang, I'll at least pay shipping. Gonna be an expensive backstrap after your ER visit!

Haha! ER for wife...I will man up and ignore my burned fingers.

I ruined three grips tonight but finished 2...will see which ones survived and send one out tomorrow.

All I ask is a pic or two posted on here and your honest opinion. I've only made a dozen of these so I am learning.

IM inbound.

No problem. Looking forward to it.

Tried my luck with Design #4 and #6 this weekend along with my first attempt at compact curved base plates. Learned that burning the plastic/polymer of the base plates was QUITE different - and the fumes were terrible. Learned. Gonna try some magazine releases and a frame tool next week (need a mask first!)

Here are a couple pics of my #4 and #6 designs on my M&P Pro 9mm. The #4 may look a bit funny...but the grip is fantastic - carried IWB around the house and in the yard all day yesterday...still working some tweaks.
