I sent my slide to Trijicon for new lights.
I just got it back. When trying to assemble the gun the slide is hitting something 1/2" short of sliding all of the way back.
It feels like it's hitting something.
I never had this problem before.
Any ideas what's going on?

With the slide off, depress the striker block to make sure it's moving freely. Then press down on the rear of the slide to make sure the rear rails align.

The ejector is where it's supposed to be.

I'm able to remove the End Cap by moving the Striker Spring.
I tried pressing down on the Striker Block Plunger (Round Silver Piece) but it won't budge.
When I place the slide as far as it will go and press the trigger it will go halfway onto the Rear Rails, but no further.
From what I've seen, the Striker Block Plunger should depress easily but it won't budge. Evan pressing hard with a flat rounded punch. How do I free it up?

Voilà...
I put some Hoppe's No.9 on the plunger and let it soak for a few minutes. Then I put the punch on it and gave it a light smack with my little Gun hammer and the Striker popped out.
I dried it all out and reassembled it, making sure the plunger moved freely. After that the Slide went on without any further problem.

Thanks

BTW, The replacement Trijicon sights are bright even in dimmed room light. They did a great job with 6 week turn around for $57 total.

Changing the rear sight exposes the striker block. Perhaps it was a bit bound up. When you install the slide, the trigger bar will push the block allowing the slide past it. Clearly, that's where it was jamming.

Nicely Done.

Make sure you thoroughly function check it. Dry fire a bunch, then remove the slide to verify the block still moves freely. Repeat after next live fire.
