Default Frustrating

I recently purchased a S&W 317 airlight .22, a gun that retails around $600. After I got it home and shot it I noticed point of impact was around 5" to the right of point of aim at 15 yards. At 25 yards it shot almost a foot to the right. I tried a few different types of ammo but it had no effect on it. I sat down and really closely examined the firearm and noticed the barrel was angling to the right in the frame. I contacted S&W and they issued a return label so they could repair it. No contact was made by them about the arrival, repair or return shipment of my firearm but it was returned within a couple weeks supposedly "repaired". After un-boxing I immediately noticed the barrel was leaning hard to the left, way past center. I had a bad feeling about this since it just needed to be aligned straight to put the impact in line with POA. I took it out and fired a few rounds through it and guess what, now it shoots 5-6" to the left. What is the deal, can they not put a barrel on a $600 gun straight? They've had two chances on it and both failed miserably. I recontacted them requesting to return it.....again to see if they can get the barrel straight this time. I wish I had a J frame action wrench I'd just fix it myself. Oh well........third times a charm I guess. They've crooked it right and crooked it left, maybe this time they'll get it straight. I will say this much, this will be my last modern smith, from here on out they will all be vintage.

Did they ever fix it? I am going through the same thing with a 686-6 3 inch. Returned to S&W twice.
