So I bought a set of N frame pachmayr presentation grips for my 27-2, I go to put them on and no-go. Its has like an 1/8 in. gap when screwed together. So I call PAC and they say I need to pay to ship them back and they will send me another set that could take up to a month. I try to buy US products and this is what I get, poor QC and bad customer service. My old two piece PACs with no emblem fit like a glove. Not happy!

I agree, the new stuff "just ain't what it used to be". Very poor mold quality and fit.

My father and one of my co-workers have pachmayrs from the 80s on their 686s and they look really nice. So I ordered a new set for my 686 and they look terrible. Awful fit. Ain't what they used to be...

Just got Presentations (two-piece) for a K-frame. Perfect fit, no problems. These were new in the original packaging. I'm not crazy about how they feel and may go back to magnas and a grip adapter, but QC is not an issue.

Just to give you the heads up on Pachmeyer's................

Years ago when I first started getting into the hobby I put Pachmeyer Grips on a Colt 1911 and a S&W M586. Within a year or two both grips had the metal core work through the rubber and scratch the heck out of the blued grip frame. At that time I also urged my friends to remove their's and inspect as well. Turned out theirs had done the same thing. Needless to say all my Pachmeyer Grips are now part of a garbage dump somewhere and I would never use them ever again!

If you like the rubber type grips I have found Uncle Mikes to be FAR SUPERIOR and they have NO metal inside them to damage your gun.

I've noticed the same thing. The new ones just don't fit like the older ones I have. Bummer, I really like the Presentation Grips.
