If you're thinking about polishing chambers in a S&W rimfire revolver because of chambering/extraction issues you should read this first. Reaming .22 cylinder

There are plenty of threads about this if you do a search with key word "ream".

Yep, reaming is the way to go. I did a couple of my .22s after the above mentioned thread and it helped extraction significantly.
