Found a 4006 at LGS at a reasonable price $425. looks real good condition didn't disassemble it. How hard is it to convert to 357sig is it just a drop in barrel or can you even find a 357 sig barrel.

Yeah, I’d have to agree with biku324 and ask why? There is no drop in barrel available. You would have to use a 9mm barrel that would work with your 4006, then have a smith machine the chamber to .357sig dimensions. Too many viable options out there, but sadly 3rd gen Smiths aren’t a good choice. There are some threads here on the forum about converting Smiths to .357sig, but I think they all begin with 9mm slides and barrels mated to .40S&W lowers. Hopefully someone more experienced than me will come along and set the record straight.

Shooting 357 Sig out of a 3rd gen 40 s&w is a hoot! :D

But you won't find any commercially manufactured 357 Sig barrels. :(

A while back I converted a couple of barrels for 4006 standard and TSW models. (They are different.)

There is a member of this Forum (BMCM) who does commercial gunsmithing and he has reportedly done one for another member.

Here is a link to a post where the member tells of having it done and later in the thread I describe the processes I used:

Unless you really enjoy the level of effort required for such a conversion (I certainly do. And to me it's not all that difficult, but it's just not for everyone), you should contact Bill (BMCM) and find out what he charges. :)
