I was doing some cleaning on my 25-9 today. The Locking Bolt Pin in the front of the revolver actually fell out. Had never seen that before. I was not touching anything up at that end. Odd.

Is this uncommon? It had a slight bend in it as well.

This is not uncommon. The front locking bolt pin is miniscule, and under quite a bit of stress due to the repeated recoil forces imposed. The good news is that new pins are available, so the best course of action would be to replace the existing pin with a new one.

If the holes provided for the pin have enlarged to the point where the new pin is a bit undersized you can use a small peening hammer to slightly flatten one end of the new pin prior to installation. This slightly "out of round" condition at the end of the pin will help it stay in place.
