Anyone ever use the post 97 took steel hammer or the PC trigger? These are tool steel parts meant to replace the MIM parts on those guns that have them.

Oh yeah, I've used some of his parts before and have confidence is the quality. His tools too have been invaluable to me, still using them.

Thinking about replacing the MIM hammer and trigger in the 686 that I dont even have in my possession yet. I cant just leave anything alone. So I thought I'd ask around for experiences.

I used his oversize cylinder stop in my M29 and it's real nice. Thanks for the reply.

I installed a Power Custom trigger but with an Apex DAO hammer. I also installed a Wilson Combat mainspring and 14lb rebound spring. I did some light polishing of the contact surfaces and the resulting trigger pull is extremely smooth.

BillBro , is your 686 a -5 or newer ? I have a 686-5+ , and I saw your post and got to thinking . Does he have a website ? Just might have BMCM go through my 686 .

I just used a Power Custom replacement hammer (Bisley Style) in an OM Ruger BH.
It was right on spec. I needed to only touch up the sear face a little to suit my taste for a trigger pull.
The steel appears to be a very deep case hardened type. I believe they list the steel type on their website.

I wanted to recut the checkering on the hammer spur from the inverted diamond style to a hand cut style. To do so I had to anneal the hammer spur first as a file would not touch it.
I also had to remove material from the hammer to make it fit an SAA frame as opposed to a Bisley type grip strap. To do that I ground off most of the unwanted metal and finished it off with stones. Being closer to the sear notches I didn't want to anneal the metal in that area.
I would imagine the other parts they offer are of the same hardness and quality.
