I am contemplating putting a Novak sight on my Glock 30 Gen 4 because of the ability to adjust the sight . My question is, how long can you expect the tritium vials to work?

As always, thanks in advance for your help!

They are "useable" forever; they lose most of their glow, however, in 10-12 years...

Once you have them, you will realize that is really not a big deal. Night sights make it very easy to spot your gun lying on a nightstand in the dark, but don't really do a heckuva lot to help you actually aim, except to keep the gun pointed in the correct general direction.
