Well... My first duty gun outside of the military was a 5906. This turned into a 5906TSW and later a M&P9. There were more changes after this but a few years ago I got back into DA/SA with CZ however I came across a 4013TSW. It was in pretty rough shape and I wanted to do it right and was even toying with the idea of milling the slide for a dot. This site stopped that.
One person on this site is the primary reason for this; Guzzitaco. I don't know if he is the first person here to mention the J-Point sight but seeing it did lead me to his work.
I want to add that before I get to far I have to say that I am a big proponent of red dots, but I only run them if I can still use iron sights. Again Guzzitaco has helped me out considerably.
I reached out to him for a front sight for a 5906TSW with a J-Point mount and Sig Dot and my 4013TSW with the same set up. He provided me with sights for both.
I have had them for a bit but to date have only put on the .40's front sight. Mainly because of the weather we have been having. I'm waiting on clear weather weekends to shoot (outdoor range).
So while I could go on and on about how .40 through a 3rd gen seems to be milder than from other platforms I would rather comment on the fact that using the integrated rear sight in my Sig Romeo Zero-Elite and the shark fin front sight I am on. Literally a 1/2" high at 10 yards. Couldn't have asked for better.
If this is something you want to do with a 3rd Gen (red dot upgrade) Talk to Guzzitaco about a front sight.
