XS Big Dot sight on a Model 60

I just finished putting an XS big Dot front sight on my model 60-9. I'm happy with how it came out:

Nice job.
I wish mine would be that easy. I picked up an early no dash 60 today for 200. Nice shape. I want to put the xs sight on, but mine has the solid ramp sight.
I did see that cylinder and slide was milling it off and dovetailing the xs on. Kinda expensive, but probably worth it.

gb6491 Thanks for the great write up and photos . I just got a new S&W 360 38 special Air weight and have ordred a XS express big dot front sight for it. Now I have some very good tip for my own installion. I think it will be great on this little lite weight revolver....

I installed Big Dot on my 640... and took it off.

Did not like the site picture. White outline on the dot is way too big, it doesn't fit within the rear site frame and it obscures target. Still have the Big Dot - email me if you want it. Meprolight makes narrow night site for J frames; it's available from Midway and from Kimber store.

Hoptob thanks for the offer on the XS big dot but I alreader ordered from Brownells. Plus these old eyes need some help. Its not a target pistol for me just a head shot maker! LOL

Wow, nice job on the sight install's, and great turorial as well!! If ya dont mind, how'd you go about deepening the sight "groove"?? That's a nice touch!! That little 60 looks like it's ready for some action!!
