    Found some .22lr today

That's about twice the price of reloading 38 or 9MM. Egads.

    Which Powder for .38?

Another vote for Trail Boss. When I started up and went to purchase my first components, the only pistol powder in the joint was IMR Trail Boss. Having to get started NOW :), I picked it up with some primers and Xtreme 158 gr. plated SWC. Great powder to start with, easy to use, nearly...

Lee Single Stage Press Good Enough?

Lee is a good quality product at a good intro pricing point. I just started as well but am only using a Lee Hand Press. I currently can reload what centerfire I need between shooting sessions. That said, I think the single stage will more than do what you need. Get ready to reload more than...

    I thought it was over...

Go 38 and start to reload. I just started to reload (mostly 38 so I don't have to chase cartridge casings around but also 9MM). I can load range rounds for about 13 cents a round. Just about what some folks are getting raped for rimfire ammo. Plus, you roll your own supply so you can gear and...

    .22 Shortage

This. Fire discipline is the order of the day when ammo is in short supply. I rarely load more than 5 rounds at a time anyway even before all this started. I learned on a single shot bolt action so I am fully accustomed to making every shot count.

    Grips for Round butt?

Wow - Beauty. That's what I'm looking for. I'll do some searching around, but the Altamont grips look like what the Dr. ordered. Thanks to all for the terrific insight and opinion!!

    Grips for Round butt?

Hi Folks. I had no idea the Uncle Mike's would have been factory. I'll have to check out the Hogue's. Thanks tons!

    Grips for Round butt?

Just picked up a 19-7 6" (round butt) that had some god-awful Uncle Mike's grips on it. I'd like to get some respectable shoes for this new shooting iron. In fact, the first thing I did was take off the Uncle Mike's and cleaned heaven knows what from the frame. I am generally partial to square...

    Model 18-no dash

Nice. Very, very nice. That's the next item on the wish list for sure. I just picked up a K38 and need a rimfire piece to keep it company.

    K38 Target Masterpiece grips?

It is circa 1950 per the S&W bible. I've looked around (ebay some others) and have seen more target grips than the magna's. I may go that route as they look more correct than the pachmyr (sp?) grips, which are also a little big for my hands. Thanks again!

    K38 Target Masterpiece grips?

Hi folks. Thanks for correcting me. I heard reference to 'Target' Masterpiece when some referred to the Combat Masterpiece (could've been a youtube video). I'll make sure to use the correct nomenclature in the future. I tried to edit the title with cross-out (to retain the original error), but...

    K38 Target Masterpiece grips?

Hi forum: Just picked up a K38, I believe Target Masterpiece, circa 1950 that came with pachmyr rubber grips. I prefer something that looks a bit more correct. I looked on Gun Parts Corp (Numrich) and didn't see anything. Anyone have any ideas where I can seek out some grips to make this new...

    Hola from Sunny CA

I've posted a couple of times about an old breaktop revolver that my wife handed down to her. It's currently my only S&W, but I'm on the hunt for S&W 22lr revolvers. Glad to be here. Cheers

Info on old S&W Break top ?'s

Hi all. Thanks for the info, especially WHY certain gun cleaning products are bad for nickel. Mmaher - I'm not sure if she was left handed (!?), etc. The only historical note I have is that my mother-in-law, while living in Atlanta in the late 50's emptied it through her kitchen door when...

Info on old S&W Break top ?'s

Thanks for the replies. Grips have no markings, so assume non-original. If Hoppes is bad ju ju for cleaning, any suggestions? Will Breakfree be OK to use near the nickel plating? Thanks again,

Info on old S&W Break top ?'s

Hi S&W Forum: New member, first post, referred from folks at calguns.net. My wife has an older S&W breaktop that used to be her great-grandmother's. I don't know much about these older pistols and was hoping I could learn a bit. It is a 5 shot, 38 S&W caliber break top. Hammerless, DA only...
