    Value of mint 27-2 8 3/8

Stopped into my local shop and saw a mint nickel 27-2 with the long barrel. Fired 5 times (only 5 of the cylinders have any marks in them at all) easily a 99% gun. All original box, paperwork, wax paper etc. It has a front blade sight that is vertical at the back and rounded at the front. I've...

Aftermarket grips that won't scratch a nickel gun?

I think one that covers the backstrap is important just because some of the kick that gets me comes from the top of the grip frame right where it stops and where the hammer spur comes back to. It gets me in the webbing of my thumb pretty good

Aftermarket grips that won't scratch a nickel gun?

So I just got myself a pristine 29-2 and I didn't fully expect how much this thing was going to kick. The factory stocks are so new that the texturing even hurts my hands. I'm trying to get input on aftermarket grips for this that will help with the recoil and will not damage the finish under...

    M&P 10mm

I love my 1006 but I would also love to have another option in polymer 10mm other than Glock. I'd be in for at least 2 M&P 10mm if they ever made them (Pro and Compact)

    Finally found a 29-2

I've been looking for a long while for a 29-2 in good shape. Finally came across this one on the other side of the state. Wife and I flew out for a weekend trip and stopped in to pick this beauty up. Zero wear except for a faint turn ring. He had the original box but no tools or papers. Serial...

    restoring grips?

Got my first Smith revolver several months ago, a gorgeous 19-3 shooter but it had patchmeyers and I really wanted some factory wood stocks. I found an awesome old take off set on ebay that is really dark and has amazing grain but the wood looks a little dry. Would i be better off leaving it or...

WTB: SB K-Frame football cut target grips

As the title says, looking for some with the football cut. Not necessary to be in show/safe queen condition but something that isn't beat to hell is preferred.

    M&P 10mm

Definitely would buy! My father-in-law is very into guns (actually responsible for my gun hobby) and we talk guns often. While he was here on a visit he brought up during a conversation the M&P 10. The look on my face must have been priceless. I think I was actually reaching for my wallet...

Proud new owner of a 19-3

Thanks! I will definitely shoot with the patchmeyers but will probably stick with the wood target grips since this will mostly see 38spl loads

Proud new owner of a 19-3

Wow thanks for all the info. The Patchmeyers are killing me right now, they're kinda hideous. Next gun show isnt until early Aug around here so are there any other places other than here to keep an eye out for stocks? I'd rather put factory stocks on it if possible.

Proud new owner of a 19-3

Fantastic Jack, thanks! So is there a difference in the wood used on various years or models? It seems like some grips are darker than others. Or is this just variance from different trees?

Proud new owner of a 19-3

Is there some kind of diagram comparing S&W factory grips out there? It just seems there are so many variants! It took me a while to just sorta figure out the numbering system so when someone says football target or combat diamond etc I'm at a loss.

Proud new owner of a 19-3

Just got my first S&W wheel gun yesterday. Proud new owner of a 19-3 4" nickel. Its in great shape, probably around 95% with a couple scuffs on the cylinder but otherwise in fantastic shape. Serial is 7K19xxx. It has a combat trigger and hammer but patchmayer grips. I've been searching the...

    value change for parts?

Yeah the target trigger/hammer isn't a huge deal. I'm more worried about being stuck paying $75 for grips later on to get this thing looking good (back to normal). Hard decision here :( Been trying to find either a 357 or 44 mag for a while now and the itch is getting really hard to ignore

    value change for parts?

Haha so a little more than $30 from the ideal price I take it. Thats unfortunate.
