    new layout.

That feature was not available on the old forum software except for attachments. And, so far, it is not implemented in the new editor. My guess is the new software will replicate the old software scope of features that were limited for a reason. That being said, you folks are going to love the...

I just heard from Ralph. He's ok. :) He's having computer problems with the forum that he has been unable to fix even after admin instructions. I'm going to try to help but he and I are a long distance apart.:(

    32 Regulation Police?

The stocks look original. The patent date is June 5, 1917 and is in very tiny font on one panel. Like Gil said, the serial is written in pencil on the back of the right panel. Based on the overall condition I see, I have no reason to suspect the grips aren't original to the gun. WRT acquiring...

I've reached out to Matthew Conrad to see if he knows anything. I also sent an email to an address I have for him. Perhaps he is just taking a break.

    32 Regulation Police?

Yes, a 3-1/4" Reg Police. Guns with serials nearby were shipping in August 1920. I would rate it in VG condition. In the SCS&W, 5th Ed., VG is valued at $600. I tend to be a little liberal and others may rate it more critically. I will point out that the SCS&W lists 60% finish as VG for this era...

    32-20 info please

Amen! S&W made the grips in Gary's picture for both K and N frame guns. Your M&P is a K frame, square butt. So, those are what you should look for. Also, check out the Classifieds forum here. Grips are often placed there for sale.

    32-20 info please

Well, we are all just guessing when your gun shipped based on known ship dates. However, S&W was notorious for not shipping in serial number order. Many guns stayed in inventory for months and sometimes years before they shipped. You can get an exact date, to whom it shipped and how it was...

    32-20 info please

.32-20 M&P's with serials that bracket yours were shipping in August 1920. Does yours have a small trademark stamp on the left side under the cylinder thumbpiece? S&W suspended stamping the trademark for WWI and didn't resume until 1920-21. Yours may or may not have it. Also, the stocks are...

    32-20 info please

Welcome to the forums from the cotton and peanut covered plains of the Wiregrass! Give us the serial number from the bottom of the butt frame and we can give you an approximate year in which it shipped. Based on what I can see, it appears to have been made between 1918 and 1928. I don't think...

    Looking for information

Welcome to the forums from the Wiregrass! As others have stated, you have a .32 Hand Ejector, Pre-Model 30. It is built on the New I frame and shipped in late 1953 or early 1954. S&W moved this model to the J frame in 1961.

    Mystery 29-2

I think the title is a typo. It is a Model 29-2 as the OP says in the text. It could be a special order. The Standard Catalog says some were made in 3-1/2 inches. Probably need a letter to confirm before you have it scratched up. Duh. I was late typing. Need to refresh before I post.

    Help Identify

Welcome to the forums from the cotton and peanut covered plains of the Wiregrass! It sounds like a .38 Military & Police from around 1912. However, if there is a letter prefix to those numbers like a S, C, D, K, then it could be much newer. The letter may be separated from the numbers. Pictures...

    Revolver ID

The OP said the butt and cylinder serials match. Would definitely be helpful if he posted a picture of one of them. IMO, it is not .45 ACP. The headspace I see in the pictures is too small for ACP. My SWAG is the serial starts with a 7 which would resolve the confusion.

    Can I get help identifying?

These explanations are too comprehensive to reiterate them in this thread. You need to read the Standard Catalog of S&W, 5th Edition to fully understand the chronology of development of S&W handguns. At the time your hand ejector was made, there were top break revolvers and hand ejectors made...
