I would carry or sign up for Marshall "duty." Most schools around here ( I'm in school administration) do not have a resource officer as LEO are called that are assigned to schools. They cost to much money as the schools typically pay for the staff member and all associated benefits.

Just opinion but no firearms of any kind on school property which I believe is one of many places federally banned from carry. And remember school property can go further. Any location an official school event is running or bus stop.

Permit has start and end date which are adjusted for the new start date on renewal. You simply mark the application as a renewal not new as was the case for me.
