stuck in the chamber. some a little tighter than others. could not pull them out with a fingernail, pushed them out with a rod i carry for that purpose. checked the extractor, no problems there. like I said, I ran brass after with no problems. didn't think to see if groove aligned with...
Took the Federal aluminum cases to the range today. sd40ve close to 500 rounds of different brass through it over the past year. No problems before i put these in it. Ouch! Every mag had multiple fte. sometimes every 3 rounds, sometimes every other. 2 different mags. Quit after 32 rounds...
local walmart is out of everything but specialty. 25 bucks for 20. nope not going there. Saleswoman said everybody and thier brother has been in past couple days. I can wait for panic to ease off
Anybody shoot these yet? Look good, $13 for 50 at walmart. 400 lbs energy at muzzle, which should keep the bulge away. Just wondering mainly about a case rupture( I get serious bulge with any ammo over 450lbs energy) and if it's ok for the ejector and/or extractor
I was just wondering what the benefits, if any, are gained by putting a stronger recoil spring in a pistol. I see a number of members have swapped out their 18lb for a 20lb in the sd models. Is it for less perceived recoil, or for better handling?
weird. my cpx eats pretty much anything. tulla(you are definitely going to have to clean your gun after) wwb, rem, federal, blazer, and whatever I can find on sale. bad part is it likes hornady critical defense the best
Had that problem after I put the apex kit in. Pin kept walking after shooting a mag. Thought I had it all the way back in(flush) but needed just 1 more tap to seat correctly. You can hear the click when you tap it in from the left side and it's correctly seated.
Whether or not there is plusP in .40 I came across an interesting chart for factory ammo. Could be wrong but I'm thinking, after checking the ammo i fired, that anything over 460fpe will cause bulges in cases fired with the unsupported chamber. The chart even highlights the rounds to stay away...
went back out today, 100 rounds wwb 165grn. no bulges, just a few small smileys. Now I know wwb is underpowered, and the liberty is overpowered( not quite +p) so my train of thought is just to go with critical defense loads fo sd and edc, and say away from anything +p. last thing I need is a Kb!.
took the sd40ve back out to the range today after installing the apex trigger kit. Using wwb 165grn. almost every other mag on the 5 or 6th shot I had a fte and stovepipe. kept loading the mags with 12, not 14( didn't have an uplula with me).
first time out with it, I used 50 of the winchester...
put the apex kit in the other day and took it out today. BIG difference! absolutely love the lower trigger weight, after 100 rounds, my finger still feels fine. may get the stiffer guide rod, but it feels good so far.
only problem I had with the install was getting the slide lock lever to line...
dry fire usually every other day, around 20- 25 times. split the time with a dime on the slide and without. practice drawing every day. the faster I can get it on target, the better I believe
stinks that you had to give up the cpx2. It's my work gun as it's thinner and lighter than the sd40 I just got. to me, the slides on both have about the same rack tension but the sd , being a little wider is easier to grip. problem with it is even with a polo shirt, i print like xerox
I get the bulge also. brand new gun, you can see where the round is unsupported in the chamber. very pronounced bulge with the liberty umc ammo, not so much with winchester train and defend of american eagle. my camera takes blurry close-ups so no pic.
talk to my lgs, and a gunsmith friend of...
