Sinbad, I have found that I often cannot post pictures either unless I put something in the "title" box on the reply page. I'm not sure if that will help you or not.

Rust a reoccuring problem on 686s?

I might add that many of the 4" guns were police issue, and cops are not known for their equipment maintenance. I don't have a 686, but I do have a 586 that I have to be very careful with to avoid rust. None of my stainless guns need the same level of care.

Still my favorite 'ol Smith !!

Old factory re-blue... That means it looks great, you can shoot it without fear, and no guilt for refinishing the gun. That is the best of all worlds!

Last draftee finally released after 42 years

The last draftee in the US Army has finally been released. After 42 years of service, CW5 Ralph Rigby has retired from the Army (and been promoted to PFC... if you've been in, you should know what that means :D). I have known a few Vietnam era guys in my time, but they have all since moved on...

    S&W 45acp Revolver Search

Did the -3 come with combats? If not, the OP might be able to sell them and defray the cost of the 625.

    Really Cheap Beer

I did a tour of the Red Hook Brewery in Atlanta last year, and they said pretty much that exact same thing. Small breweries do a lot more ales because they are so much easier and faster to make than a lager or pilsner. That kind of made me look at things in a different light.

Need some opinions on a job opportunity..

I think most employers would prefer to hire the go-getter that has been doing something over the guy that has been sitting at home all winter. Take the job and make the best of it.

    Really Cheap Beer

Man... I didnt realize this was such a high brow crowd. Y'all must be from the S&W Hand Ejectors: 1896 to 1961 subforum. Those guys are ritzy. I'm good with Busch.

    686 mountain gun

Nice score! I can't tell you what they go for around here because I've never actually seen one for sale. I suspect it would be twice what you paid though.

    The J frame in Combat

This is excellent advice... I believe Ed Lovette's book "The Snubby Revolver" had real world examples of their use. If you haven't read it, I can strongly recommend it.

    yellow white white sight dot.

Yes, that would bother me. It seems like it would distract me enough to affect my shooting, too. Personally, I like night sights, so that would probably prompt me to install some tritiums.
