I put a new m-648 cylinder assembly on my 17-2 . It needed some fitting that I didn’t want to do ,so I had a gunsmith do it . It was an easy fitting and he charged an extremely reasonable labor charge . Accuracy is fantastic.

It may be a replacement. The front sights are pined but very hard to see ,because back in the day their tooling and polishing was of a lot higher quality. I learned this from one of forum gunsmith’s awhile back.

I shoot mine every time out shooting . It’s the 4” model 422 and it goes most places as my woods gun . Accurate and runs most everything I put through it.

Brass brush on bore and cylinder with hoppes works for me, and my 317 never minded it either . Ammo wise at defensive ranges depends on what runs the best as some rounds tend to be iffy, quality wise . Mine like Federal’s.
