What is on the side of the tire is the maximum it will take, not the optimum for your car. As you can fit the same tire to many different cars the proper pressure will vary.
Believe the factory, at least for a starting point.
I would be willing to bet a cold drink that what and how they carried on Adam-12, Dragnet and the rest of the tv shows was not a reflection of then current police practice but was instead a function of what they had in the prop room at the studio.
There are some small battery powered alarms that when tipped over sound off, they are designed for hotel doors and such. One or two of those going off just might encourage the bad guys to leave quickly.

I solved a similar problem with a "super soaker" water gun filled with a 50/50 vinegar and water mix. They really don't like it but it does not harm them.
Do you use any stain on the grips? I have some that are really ugly and I'd like to change the color a bit.
I was thinking a coat of stain or two and then tung oil. Will this work?
