New add to my herd: 4" pre-29

Ken, I have S 170096 (6.5") that shipped on April 14,1957. In my letter Mr. Jinks also informed me that there was a 4" with the same serial no. that shipped to Waco Tx. in Feb. that year. Yours maybe?

    Pre-27 identification

The target trigger, which may have been a later addition, was introduced in '55. It would be nice to see the insides of the stocks for some more guesses on whether they're "Name" brands, but I don't think they're from Fuzzy. If you don't mind, what's the asking price?

Did Keith Prefer and Carry a 29 with 4 1/2 inch Barrel??

At the risk of being redundant, this has probably been posted on the 4 1/2" that Elmer had done by The Gun ReBlue Co., but the Julia catalog listed its serial no. as 153830. In his column in the October '57 GUNS magazine a picture of it is shown with the caption "First .44 Magnum was shipped...

    Track record? - .38 Spl +P+

In the March '79 RIFLEMAN I found a reference for the Winchester 110 gr. load-(Q4070)- that states the specified velocity from a 2" @ 15' was 1020 fps. Federal offered a similar load. From all the testing members here have reported on these loads, this velocity seems to have varied greatly from...

    Secret Service / FBI Ammo

I chronographed some of this for a Sheriffs Dept. Trainer years ago. My notes show an advertised velocity of 1020 fps (source not noted). Federal, headstamped FC 87, went (2")941, (3")1047, (4")1064, (6") 1130. WCC+P+ 87 went (2") 946, (3") 1024, (4") 1072, (6") 1174. The '88 GUN DIGEST shows...
