Reloading Hornady 125 grain XTPs with Accurate #9 in 357 magnum

I have access to the digital 11th edition. The data is the same as the 9th. 14.5 grains of AA#9 at 1400fps from an 8 inch Python. ETA - starting charge is 9.7 grains at 1k fps.

    M1 Garand 30-06 reloading results

Yep, the Winchester is a Danish return. The VSR barrel is a ‘57. The only part that’s Winchester on the rifle is the receiver. Everything (other than the barrel) is Springfield. I also have a ‘43 Springfield with a ‘53 Springfield barrel. Everything is Springfield except the trigger guard...

    M1 Garand 30-06 reloading results

This was my first attempt at 30-06 Garand reloading and I’m very happy with the results so far. My intent was an easy shooting M2 ball-esc load. Due to a medical issue I’m sensitive to recoil, so I wanted this to be relatively tame. I loaded up 10 test rounds earlier in the week and was able...

    Powder measure for Accurate #9?

I’ve only used a Dillon powder measure with AA#9. I’ve had zero issues.

Quick: What Was the Spec. on WWII .38 Special?

I did notice that the non jacketed spec was 850 as well as the jacketed. If they used the same charge in my limited experience the volicity would be lower. Just wondered if they changed the load when they swapped the bullet. Also, I believe Norma loads to CIP spec which is higher than +P...

Quick: What Was the Spec. on WWII .38 Special?

I know the specs of the 158gr FMJ load is supposed to be 850fps, but does anybody actually know what it does out of a 4 inch barrel? A jacketed 158 getting to 850 out of a 4 inch would be reasonably hot.

Quick: What Was the Spec. on WWII .38 Special?

I’m reviving this thread as it’s just so good. I searched for WW2 38 Special ammunition and this thread popped up. Thanks everyone who posted. Truly one of the better forums on the internet!

44 Special light load results today

Finished up the run today. Somehow I ended up with the exact number of primed cases to bullets. Can’t argue with that! Still had a little powder left as well. I honestly have no idea how many rounds I loaded as I had primed cases. The bullets and cases were both supposed to be 500, but Acme...

    700x in 45acp

I did this a couple weeks ago but didn’t post it here. As there’s been some interest in my 44 Special 700x thread, I’ll put it up. I found a good deal online late last year on “Blue Bullets” 230 grain coated LRN’s and decided to load up some cheap 45acp. I lucked into a substantial amount of...

I was pretty happy with my results using it with 45acp as well. Only real downside is it doesn’t meter well in my Dillon.

Not General Patton's Registered Magnum & Colt Single Action.....

I’m out of town, but I’ll post pics when I get home. I’ve got a pre-27 five screw 3.5” and a third gen nickel 357 SAA with a 5.5” barrel. As close as I get.

Model 63/ Model 18 the same?

If memory serves, the blued “version” of the 63 would be a 34. On a personal note, I have larger hands so a 34 doesn’t fit me very well. I shoot an 18 or 17 much better. The bottom right is a nickel 34. Right above it is an 18.

    No Space to Reload?

I started out at home with a Lee hand press. Works just fine for 38 Special. I still have it for “emergencies”. Not fast, but it works. Everything I need fits in a plastic tub.
