    FS Colt 1911 Series 80 9x23 / 38 Super

I have the following for sale: Colt 1911 Series 80 (Model O923E) with factory 9x23 and 38 Super barrels. It has been customized by a previous owner with Videcki trigger, Wilson rear sight, aftermarket grip safety, thumb safety, and hammer whose details escape me (Wilson?). It has been redone in...

Trade or Sell Hogue 3rd Gen Grip for 9/40 *SPF*

I have a like-new Hogue pebble-texture rubber grip that I put on a 4006 briefly. I have decided it is too thick for me, and would like to trade for a similar condition factory arched delrin grip or Hogue grip for a 4506. Grip is in original package with all the original contents...

    Model 39-2 9mm

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I couldn't get the search function to work on "39-2".

    Model 39-2 Pros and Cons?

A local shop has some nice looking 39-2's. Other than being blued single-stacks, is there anything to look out for in the 39-2? Are the trigger actions usually good? I tried to search the forum, but I think "39-2" is too short or an invalid search term. Thanks

    Can Meprolights be Re-Lamped?

Thanks 38/44...I'll give them a call soon.

    Can Meprolights be Re-Lamped?

I think I've read something about this before, but can't seem to turn it up here. Will Meprolight (Kimber) re-lamp their night sights? I though all former police S&W's with night sights used Trijicons, but a 5943 I picked up has Meprolights. They are marked "MH3" and are dim. If Meprolight...

    3rd generation realization

Polymer has its advantages. But you can get a polymer pistol anytime. Get the old-school forged steel while you can.

S+W autos on new show: "SouthLAnd"

Didn't see the show but saw a rather long promo and clearly spotted the S&W. Also got a glimpse of the Beretta...and maybe a Glock?

Oh baby, I just won an auction - 4046TSW *pics added*

Very nice! I think stainless Third Gens look almost as good with a little wear on them than as they do as new. And you don't have to worry as much about scuffing or scratching them yourself. Do the TSW DAO's, having a full-length DA pull, have a heavier DA pull than non-TSW DAO's? Do...

    Atlanta PD 4003TSW trade-in's

They appear to be decock-only models. Some photos show the "returns to fire" warning on the left side of the pistol.

    5904TSW - Yes, it true!

That's a nice looking pistol. TSW I thought stood for "Tactical Smith & Wesson", although in my head I always think "Team Smith & Wesson" for the ill-fated 356TSW cartridge.

    Beretta 92FS .22 cal conversion

The Beretta kit would seem to be one to get. It holds open the slide after the last shot, has a slide safety just like an FS, and has a good reputation for reliability. The problem is, Beretta blew them out for $250 (list price was $450) over a year ago and no more have been seen. There are...

    4006 vs. M&P 40

Please don't get me wrong; polymer pistols are nice and offer certain advantages. I like mine! But the biggest reason the world is shifting to polymer pistols is that they are cheaper to make. I picked up a 4006 just cause it was offered to me at too good a deal to pass on, and was really...

    4006 vs. M&P 40

Essentially, the 4006 is out of production. I think they recently made a run of integral-railed 4006 for CHP, and if you are willing to sign a big enough contract they could do another run. But that's probably not going to happen. Now is the time to get a 4006; the trade-ins floating around...

Don't know for sure but that would be my guess also (Colorado Springs).

4006 with a hole in the hammer

I think I've got it. You will notice that the 4006 is one heavy dude. Now, cock the hammer, and imagine dropping it (hammer first) on cement. If any part of the hammer is going to break, the "tip" will break off (the hole makes the thinnest cross sectional areas) leaving a functional hammer...
