Having just purchased a new 9mm 92FS I am now looking for a .22 conversion kit for it. Do any members have any suggestions. I understand Beretta has made them in the past and that Ciener is currently making one. Who has any expearance with either conversion?

The Beretta kit would seem to be one to get. It holds open the slide after the last shot, has a slide safety just like an FS, and has a good reputation for reliability. The problem is, Beretta blew them out for $250 (list price was $450) over a year ago and no more have been seen. There are rumors both ways that Beretta never intends to make them again and that Beretta will make them again. I've had one on order with Beretta for about a year. If it ever shows up it will be a pleasant surprise.

The Ceiner seems to have a good rep for function and accuracy but doesn't have a safety and does not hold the slide open after the last shot. For some, this detracts from the "simulation" because it doesn't operate exactly like the FS. On the plus side, it has 15 round mags.

I'm holding out for a Beretta kit (if anyone is looking to sell one reasonably, contact me!). I have a Marvel Unit 2 for a 1911 and while picky it shoots well but the lack of a slide hold-open bugs me. I don't like counting rounds and I don't like snapping on an empty chamber.

That said, if I came across a really good deal on a Ceiner I'd probably get it.
