    I qualified today

I wish, Wyatt! Dept issues the duty ammo and I'm stuck with what they issue. I know why they do it (a previous Dept I worked for did not issue ammo; as a result, most of they guys were carrying WWB FMJ ammo since it was "cheap") but I'm not all warm and fuzzy about their choices in duty ammo...

    I qualified today

panamajack310, I feel your pain. My agency strictly forbids .357 ammo, even in a .357 revolver. If they allowed us to carry actual .357 ammo, I'd either be breaking out my 4" GP100 or go looking for a good, used 681 for duty use. I have absolutely no problems with my current Glock 21 duty gun...

    copper/lead fouling

Another trick for leading is to buy some solid copper pot scrubbers (make sure you get COPPER and not copper-plated steel), like a Chore Boy or similar. Cut it into small pieces, wrap it around a worn bore brush and scrub. You will be amazed how much lead comes out in small chunks. Bub

    My Latest Addition SW40VE

A short story about a guy that used to work at my PD and carried a newer Sigma .40. At that time, I had just bought a used Glock 23 and was qualifying with it for the first time. We were shooting up some old duty ammo that had been in the safe, even though we hadn't carried it for 5 or 6 years...

Bodyguards & Centennials in the Movies

Malysh, It's been a while since I saw the movie, but as I remember, Ahhhhnold is some sort of bodyguard and is guarding William's character. Early on in the movie, he gives her a blued/dark colored Bodyguard. Later in the movie, Ahhhhnold is not around and she uses it, shooting at the bad guys...

    My New Model 681

Even though we have little to no extra money, I would knock the wife down to take her credit card to buy one for $250! Very nice gun, I've wanted a 681 for a long time. Bub

Bodyguards & Centennials in the Movies

IIRC, Ahhhhnold gives Vanessa Williams a blued Bodyguard in "Eraser". While not a movie, Tubbs uses a blued Bodyguard in the "Miami Vice" series. Those are the only two I can think of. Too bad, the Bodyguard is my favorite J-Frame. Bub

Quick question regarding Ahrend's Retro Target stocks

Hi, all. One quick question. Are Ahrend's Retro Target stocks cut/relieved for speedloader use? I looked at all the pics on the Top Gun Supply page and they appear to be, what with the cut out on the left stock, but I want to make sure before ordering. Cocobolo stocks ought to look good on my 4"...

Has Your Stainless Steel Revolver Discolored/Rusted/Pitted?

This is exactly what my M649 looked like after about two weeks when I forgot to take the Uncle Mike's Boot Grips off to wipe it down after sweating like a pig on it. Still has some minor pitting. Reminded me that stainless is stainLESS, not stainFREE. I now take the stocks off either the M649...

    Former Police Revolvers

Here are my two. The first is an M66-2 that was carried by a friend of mine when he first started on the PD we both currently work at. He bought it personally and carried it until he bought a S&W M659 9mm auto, which he also still has. After that, he shot it a LOT in the PD competitions our...
