Totally agree! Another reason I really enjoy this forum is the occasional cool story and history that goes with an old gun. To me these things are every bit as interesting and important as the gun itself.

Update/funny story time... My nearly daily routine is to stop at the LGS on the way home and kill a little time until its time to pick up my son from school. So I stopped in yesterday and there is my neighbor at the counter putting some guns on consignment. We get to chatting, and it turns...

Thank you! As to shooting this one, I highly doubt it since best I can tell it is unfired outside of the factory test shots. But then again, as time passes the itch might just get the better of me, who knows. Prices on Colts, yeah I hear you there. This one was priced out of my comfort zone...

I hear ya, its an odd duck for sure. But condition and rarity won out, an unfired 1 of 251 was just a no brainer for me. And of those 251, some unknown number were later cut down to 3" combats....As to the magna porting, that is odd as well I totally agree. He had 6 guns on consignment. 2...

PPC guns also had custom barrels that were much thicker as well. It just seems totally odd to me that you wouldn't just drill and top the top strap.

When this popped up it didn't take me long to figure out that if (a big IF) they ever did make the 2.0 like I wanted, and by the time I added these sights and trigger, I was way ahead with this one. Finally got to shoot it yesterday and it was flawless as expected. Should make a great plate...
