    tyler t grip inserts

Ordered one for a j-frame on July 23rd. Still no sign of it....... As far as the look of the bronze one goes, there's a half decent picture on their website showing what each look like on various revolvers.

I'M LOOKING FOR 617 HAMMER AND TRIGGER

You could possibly get them from Brownells or direct from Smith & Wesson. I'd opt for S&W even if it cost a little more to know you are getting the right parts. Good Luck.

    tyler t grip inserts

I ordered a T Grip mid-July. ETA unknown. I've read that they show up when the show up. No way to tell. Apparently its a small shop and they make them in batches as the orders come in. Guess we can just wait. I don't think its worth badgering them on the phone. Even used ones are hard...

Why the rough area on the top of a 27 frame?

I've got a 27. The "rough" area is fine checkering. Supposed to be eye appealing and a fancy finish for a fine revolver. I guess it can also cut down on glare. It's an added embelishment. I like it on mine.

    model 657 front sight

I put a gold dot on my M25. In good light it shines well, but with dim light or little light from behind, even the gold is hard to see. I'd go green fiber optic especially if you are going to hunt with it.

    "new" classics questions

25 Classic in 45 Colt. Ahrends grips and SDM front sight are the only changes I made. Does have the lock. No P&R like the originals. The factory grips I didn't like. They were too thin for me and didn't feel right. I like it.

S&W Out of the Hunting Rifle Business?

I get around to quite a few shops and gun shows and visit my club range usually twice a week for a few hours, but I have yet to see an i-bolt. I guess they're out there but not real popular. Too much competition in the rifle market is my guess.

    163653 Mountain Gun

I don't have one but here's a pic of the 45 Colt version. The 44 would look the same. I'm sure you'll get some more pics soon. http://www.lipseys.com/itemdetail.aspx?itemno=SM150362&...ion&finish=Stainless

    I finally found a 4inch 657

Very nice! I've got a 4" 57 myself but would love another in stainless. I've seen 6" 657's but have yet to see a 4" 657 in person that was for sale.

N frame holsters, 1/3 moon clips. Opinions?

I just bought a DeSantis belt scabbard holster for my new 4" 629 and love it. It is well made and rides fairly high. It does have a thumb snap but you can get the same holster without it if you like. Here's a link to the place I bought it from. $45 plus shipping. I had it in two days from...

    629 Lets see YOURS

New 629-6 4" Bought about three weeks ago. I changed out the red ramp front sight for a same size patridge sight. Very crisp sight picture for me now. I love shooting this revolver!

What has happened to Smith and Wesson Quality Control.

I really don't care for these types of complaining posts and don't usually respond to them. But, I finally felt compelled to respond and add my two cents, for what it is worth. I've bought two new Smiths this year, a M25 Classic with nearly 1000 rounds through it and a M629. I shot the new...

    629 front sight help request

Thanks for the response. My front sight measures right at .275" so .250 will probably work sinche it looks like I have some leeway in the adjustment now. Following your suggestions Joni, I found some sights. Brownells has the the McGivern type gold bead sight from SDM Fabricating and...

    629 front sight help request

I just bought a new Model 629 4" revolver. I really don't care for the red ramp sight and prefer the patridge sight on my Model 25. The 629 has a pinned in the sight base so it should be easily replaced. I'm looking for either a gold bead or patridge style replacement front sight that will be...

Anybody scope their 4" N frame?

Either red dot or regular crosshair scope. Just wondering how it worked out for you. Pics appreciated. I know it would look funny but I'm thinking about doing it for targets and possibly short range deer hunting. I was thinking of scoping a 4" 629. Thanks
