Value for the gun only is a minimum of $1200. If you have the numbers matching box, factory papers, and cleaning kit, likely another $200 or thereabouts. Nice gun. I have one just like it, and it's 4" and 6-1/2" brothers
If you are looking to buy by the case, RivertownMunitions.com and FreeShippingAmmo.com offer free shipping and no sales tax. Variety is somewhat limited but both outfits have a lot of what I need. I've bought several cases from each of these vendors.

I'm 72. Bought my first S&W at age 21; a Model 14-3 8-3/8" with an interest in target shooting. Subsequently acquired a Model 60, a Model 17-3, and a Model 29-2 6-1/2". Got into reloading around the same time to save money on ammo.
Entered law enforcement at age 27 when revolvers were still...
FMJ bullets do not produce leading. Most lead bullets do leave lead in barrels. Unless you reload, and you want to avoid leading, go with FMJ or JHP projectiles.

Welcome to the 13 3" club! I've got one in blue and in nickel, and a 65 3" as well. These are great guns and the value keeps going higher and higher. Congrats on your score!
