29 this year…. How bad does this “sickness” get???

How bad does this “sickness” get??? Not bad at all, unless you don't have any money. At your rate of consumption, that does not seem to be a problem.

29-2 4" barrel all paperwork, cleaning tools and paperwork

That Model 29-2 is overpriced. The Model 58, on the other hand, is under priced, made in much fewer numbers, and a lot harder to find. Go with the 58.

    624 Details

Value for the gun only is a minimum of $1200. If you have the numbers matching box, factory papers, and cleaning kit, likely another $200 or thereabouts. Nice gun. I have one just like it, and it's 4" and 6-1/2" brothers

    Chevy question for mechanics

Let me suggest that you use "top tier" gasoline, exclusively. After reading up on it, I have used nothing else since.

    Cheapest ammo? Online.. shipping?

If you are looking to buy by the case, RivertownMunitions.com and FreeShippingAmmo.com offer free shipping and no sales tax. Variety is somewhat limited but both outfits have a lot of what I need. I've bought several cases from each of these vendors.

    The T's

I've seen quite a few 50's revolvers equipped with the target hammer only, with the usual service trigger.

    Found a Lew Horton Holster

I would think that holster would fly out of the Classified Section for a minimum of $100.

Model 66 stainless rear sight broken

If your rear sight slide is stainless, I doubt you'll ever find a replacement. Those available today will work on your gun and are black (blued) and are either plain or white outline.

Blue Box label and contents questions

IMO, the 5-50 written on the box was not done at the factory. The typical tool kit for a combat masterpiece of that era would include an aluminum cleaning rod with a loop on one end, a threaded cotton mop and a threaded wire brush (both for cleaning the inside of the barrel and cylinders), and...

    29-3 Silhouette Acquisition

I guess I was confused about the Model 29 with an adjustable front sight being available in other barrel lengths. It was the Model 586 that was available with the adjustable front sight in both 6" and 8-3/8" barrels.

    29-3 Silhouette Acquisition

I believe that long barreled version is 10-5/8".

    19-3 Ramp sight nickel.???

I've never seen a nickel front sight blade available as a replacement part. I assume you are talking about the blade, and not the complete front sight blade on ramp base. The front sight blade on ramp base preceded the 19-3 iteration by several years. The blue blade is available and that is...

Two questions.. Average age and what got you started?

I'm 72. Bought my first S&W at age 21; a Model 14-3 8-3/8" with an interest in target shooting. Subsequently acquired a Model 60, a Model 17-3, and a Model 29-2 6-1/2". Got into reloading around the same time to save money on ammo. Entered law enforcement at age 27 when revolvers were still...

Lead VS FMJ for gun cleaning.

FMJ bullets do not produce leading. Most lead bullets do leave lead in barrels. Unless you reload, and you want to avoid leading, go with FMJ or JHP projectiles.
