Do you have a wish list? What is on it?

Not sure of the purpose for this thread - other than psychological data for some survey. As a financially challenged senior citizen, I'm blessed to be happy with what I have managed to own. But if Wishes were Fishes - I'd better be Fishing. 2 firearms that I want badly - but can't afford - as...

Need help choosing good 1st Revolver for a beginner..

My advice is to buy a USED one. I'm 78. & own a few revolvers, ALL mine were bought used, & IMO of the highest quality surpassing new offerings in many cases. LOOK ON LINE, many big gun retailers are selling stainless S&W LEO trade-ins right now.. Just my $.02

    Are you a "gun slut"?

FYI. My smallest carry pistol for lighter summer attire, is the slim & compact STEEL POLISH 9x18mm P-64 similar to a PPK, is beautifully made, reliable accurate & feeds hollow points. Has good stopping power for a small blow-back pistol. I installed a softer hammer spring to improve DA...

    Snubby Kit Gun

I haven't priced them lately, but if you browse Gun Broker you will get an idea of the high end prices. You never know when one will pop up somewhere. My favorites are the top breaks. There are lots of the cheaper PULL PIN revolvers they made, but the top breaks cost more & ARE NICER. The...

    Are you a "gun slut"?

Our leadership didn't want to show you something you might like better than US issue. Plenty did/do appreciate them. Yes they do have a safety - same lever that WAS the selector switch. Whats not to like about a rifle that will work better than any other in worst conditions ? They work even...

    Snubby Kit Gun

This qualifies as a 22lr kit gun. It is a lightweight, delicate looking, H&R 9 shot top break, auto-ejector. It is extremely accurate & highly recommended.. Posing with its big brother model 999 22lr sporstsman.

    The UGLY Brazilian

Probably the one, it was in Louisiana. I wondered if it had been exhumed with a gangsters body - when I saw it. Hint: I paid WAY less for mine because it was miss-listed as a surplus Victory model .45acp DA. it had been on over a month, My offer of what I had to spend GOT IT. I had spent lots...

Does anyone have experience with large the flick-open telescopic segmented wands - are the truly useful ? Asking for a friend - who totes one when walking his dog. .

    Are you a "gun slut"?

I was criticized by a gunsmith once, for spending money on a number of used, inexpensive hand guns I LIKED - rather then buying ONE name brand expensive gun with more "value". I took this as a slur, maybe not being a Slut - but a Dummy. But, since I was doing the earning & spending (within my...

    The UGLY Brazilian

Here is a very Ugly one - I considered buying to restore, has well done Modification. But it went for WAY over my budget.

    The UGLY Brazilian

My First Brazilian Had been re-barreled with a US property barrel. The one I have now is mechanically like new with only storage wear. It was delivered to Brazil in 1946 the year & month of my birth. I'd been looking for an affordable shooter - & I just got lucky. IT is my favorite revolver...

OK, let's talk batons and any leather guys, come on in...

Speaking of Trunchions & Hickory Shampoos. I imagine they would be helpful to restore order in current riot situations - better than whatever they are using now. I've also noticed LOTS of LEO surplus 870's being sold off lately - I would have thought MORE would be needed instead. I'm all-for...

    Short Barrel Shotgun

I should add - that I decided a Shotgun would be overly destructive to fire in MY house (unless a crowd of invaders). So - I've opted for my more controllable, 30 round, 9mm, Braced Stribog - with strong green laser - Not to wreck the place. I doubt homeowners insurance covers owner caused damage.

    EVIL KNIVES

I get it - mostly agree, I own/carry a few knives that are frowned upon. even though they have other uses than the above - which are useful only for killing. I'd hate explaining WHY I was carrying one of THEM. Which Is why I used the dramatic title.

Picking up a haul of P and R legends next week..

GOOD FOR YOU. Nothing wrong with THIS hobby. I've always thought it was Ironic that used colts bring more than S&Ws, as I've found the Smiths to be lighter, & more durable - even finished better.

    Short Barrel Shotgun

CONSIDER THIS: My first shotgun was a used X-police, 870 top folder for Law enforcement stamped on stock, I liked it fine. I was uncomfortable about keeping it loaded around the house (which a house gun really ought to be) because of my young daughter & her friends visiting. Then I became aware...

Has the Scout Rifle Outlived it's Hey Day?

Too heavy & long to be a Scout Rifle, But the scope is a long relief Pistol scope, solidly mounted to the original rear sight pad. (I have a scoped folding AK that would-be a practical Scout) THIS IS the Range Toy I built with an orphaned 1943 Mosin Nagant barrel & receiver + used parts from...

If You Like Bosch, Bosch Legacy, and The Lincoln Lawyer

I saw Harry Bosch mentioned, & have read most of the novels he is featured in. Good stuff !! If you enjoy Detective yarns, I own everything Dacsheil Hammet, Raymond Chandler, & Ross MacDonald wrote. They were the originators of the hard-boiled genre of American crime fiction, & still very...

    EVIL KNIVES

Although a knife fan, NOT interested in collecting these. I've only learned of them recently. Never seen one in person. The Russian Ballistic knife is ILLEGAL & BANNED almost everywhere. The Gas Injection knife should be. Both are impractical for Knife Duties - other than murder or mayhem...
