Edit for correction.. The SD did come with 9 and 11 rd mags, not the 8 and 10 rd mags I had previously stated.

You have some very nice guns to choose from, especially the 627. For me the favorites are the 3” 625-3, pair of 1006s, and a 4506.

Going by memory….I had read that -4s were made in small batches, as ordered. The batch count for the lettered one is 150. I have yet to see another with the same serial prefix.

This letter mentions how many -2s were made for Ashland, but for some reason it doesn't mention how many -3s, or -4s were made (the number i had requested), and no actual total number.

I agree, we need 627s with standard barrels. They did produce a 4” version of what you are wanting. 627-5, product code 163357. Too bad they were produced for only 2 years. Obviously, they’re scarce.

I never knew of any 629s being factory polished until seeing this "Magna Classic" for sale not long ago. That price, wow.

The one i posted above was lettered to a distributor in Florida, which is why the box was still with it. It was shipped with Magnas. Can't recall the distributor's name...the letter went with the gun back when i traded it. Edit to add...it was also a gun show find, and neither the dealer nor I...

For reference, this is a genuine CS-1. The front sight of a CS-1 is narrower than a standard sight. 1/10" vs. 1/8", if i remember correctly.

I'm betting that whoever he leaves that gun to will dump it at a pawn shop for maybe $200. True on "the same guns at every show". There is a dealer that has been trying to sell a pair of 66 snubs, firm-priced at $1600 each. He's had those in his case for at least 3 years. I offered to sell him...

Gun shows are hit and miss. I still see 3rd Gens at the shows, and have recently purchased a pair of fair priced .40s. There have been several 659s and other 9mms on the tables. There are also those seen on a regular basis because they are way overpriced..like the 40XX (can't remember exact...

Nice 4013! Hard to find a reasonably priced one these days...surprising since so many people were convinced to dump off their .40s and switch to 9s. And good call on looking for another to convert to 10. I bought a 4053 to switch to 10, but decided to leave as is.

Agreed I had a 3" CS-1 without the "M" stamp. Still had the original box, and it lettered to being shipped to some distributor. Prefix was "AYD" (going off memory)
