    Would you make this trade?

Sometimes, you just gotta do what makes you happy. If you wait, there are probably a boatload of people who would give you a 45 for the 29. I wish I had most of the guns back that I have traded over the years, but that's how it goes.

    Mighty Midget 38 Special

My Dad related a story from the local civil unrest in the 60's. Apparently there was a house that was harboring one of the folks who was inciting some of the unrest. 5 patrol cars showed up to effect an arrest, and the crowd on the porch was in no mood to cooperate. Dad told me that one of...

    Would you make this trade?

Yeah, the other thing to consider is that .45's are fairly commonplace. The model 29 is good for pretty near anything on 2 or 4 legs and most things on wheels in the North American continent.

    Would you make this trade?

If you use and like the 29, then hang on to it. If you are looking for something more practical, I'd jump on the trade. Just make sure those 500 rounds aren't reloads...I blew up a German PPK with no import marks when I was young and poor, shooting the reloads the guy threw in to "sweeten the...

Colorado wants to do away with due process for gun owners.

UPDATE: WIVB tv news is now reporting that the pistol permit holder who had his guns confiscated was the wrong individual. Apparently there was a mix-up on the part of the "state", and they ordered the guns seized from the wrong individual. The Supreme Court Judge that signed the order to...

Colorado wants to do away with due process for gun owners.

It's already enacted in NY, and an Erie County pistol permit holder had his permit suspended because he had been on anti-anxiety medication that had been prescribed for him sometime in the past. According to media reports, he was not under current treatment or currently taking the medication...

    3" Model 65

Mine was sent to Smith and converted to a bobbed hammer DAO after I sold it to my buddy. He got the itch for something else and I wound up buying it back. In my opinion, it's about the best all around package for any kind of serious social situations, and yes, walking in the woods!

Jim Cirillo's Service Revolver, the Model 10.

Kinda takin that a little personal? I didn't pick up on any hostility on the part of collects, but maybe I'm missing something. I agree that for all practical purposes, most people can learn to shoot as well double action as single action. Maybe he put a TH on his model 10 for a reason, or...

    we're all jolly well shafted

Manipulation of facts by the media is nothing new. Facts can be reported in a way that tend to confirm or reinforce a reporters personal views, or the "slant" of the media entity, or to back up a political position. Watching the tragedy unfold on the T.V., the initial reports indicated that...

    13-3 with lots of Stampings

I haven't heard the phrase 13-1 and "cheap shooter" used in the same sentence in a long time! If you come across any more of them, please let us know!!!!! One of the best all around guns out there, IMHO. N is factory nickel (although if I remember correctly, my nickel 13 had the N in a...

    Peace Officers. What happened here?

You did the right thing stopping to help. Unfortunately, some people out there don't have the best intentions in those circumstances, and would certainly take advantage of an officer being disabled as you described, stealing his equipment, weapons etc. I'm guessing the responding officers...

When did FBI adopt the M-15 as a service gun?

Neighborhood watch on steroids! If I recall correctly, the NYSP BCI went to the 3" model 13 for awhile in the 80's, about the same time the FBI did. The 3" K frame .357 is hard to beat for being the all around revolver IMHO.
