Slaying of rancher on the border saturday

There was also an "assassination" of a diplomat in a border town (Juarez) recently. The simple solution to our southern border problem in Arizona is ---- Elect or appoint Sheriff Joe Arpio of Maricopa County (I live in Pinal County) as Arizona Home Security Chief - He'd put those captured to...

    Show us your reloading setup!

I had seen that picture before too but do not know who owns it - then it also had a picture looking out 3x3 foot opening in that back wall (at bench tabled height) showing a 600yard or so range on the owners property. It said the place was in Wyo or the Dakotas - Out a my league... And, look...

    cast lead for defense

The factory loads I want in my revolver, have a muzzle energy of 222ft-lbs. My studies into loads all documented muzzle energy, a product of bullet mass and velocity. At $1 a round, or so, it is costly to practive with those loads. (some of you may remember when I was doing chrony work with 2"...

    Show us your reloading setup!

I'll show what my starting setup was, and how it has grown. I like the bench made with 2x4s and a 1" plywood top, but if I was doing it again, I make it out of 2x6s with 4x4 legs and 2 1" plywood sheets glued together for a 2" top. and bigger this ones' footprint is 2'x6' - when the next one...

A couple of unusual Ruger Vaqueros

they're both built on the 44mag frame - Cowboy shooters thought it too big. So, Ruger made them smaller, changed serial prefix to 3 digits. The new vaquero, as they're called, are the same size as the Colt SAA revolvers. Cowboy shooters are happy. And, I have an old one in stainless with the...

What is your take on George Armstrong Custer?

Custer had a Spanish Toledo sword he captured during the Civil War. It was inscribed "Draw me not without cause, sheath me not without Honor". He was known for being "in front" of this troupes leading and encouraging, not behind them, Soldiers called him "Strong Arm".

    Analyzing chronograph data?

I work my rifle reloads from a light charge to a stronger charge until I find that sweet spot where my groups got tighter and tighter then started getting bigger. I tuned loads for that specific rifle. Chrono data is good to know for flight trajectory. Then the SD and MV are factored in with...

Beretta double action .22 pocket pistol?

I have looked at the 21A's, and at the Taurus bobcat - They Sure look identical - Taurus about 40% less. I wonder if they have the same inclination towards ammo?

A question for FFLs: Do you charge sales tax on out of state transfers?

The collection of tax on services is a state revenue issue. If the home state charges tax on services, then tax is collected. If the state does not collect tax on services, then no sales tax "should" be collected. Arizona does no collect taxes on services, I am a FFL and do not collect the tax...

    Enfields - #4 Mk2

I've look at that number till I went cross-eyed - I think it may read 4/2145 - or you may be corfrect it is an "A" reading A/2145. The same numbers are stamped on the buttstock. The wood sure has character!

    Enfields - #4 Mk2

    Enfields - #4 Mk2

Here are a few pixs - Seems there should be more numbers on the receiver. Rifle wood is just as shown, I have found no serial numbers only the #4 MK2 and what I believe is a date code
