Reloading a Winchester Model 1873 chambered in 357/38

How so? Hodgdon shows the same HP38 loads for a 125 gr XTP in .357 pistol and rifle. The 1873 Winchester is not a real strong design, Mr Browning did very well designing the 1886 and 1892 to replace the 1876 and 1873. The modern reproductions are depending on modern steel to hold .357 Magnum...

    Modern Mystery: no-dash 52

It used to be commonly said that if you back out the DA lockout screw it will be very tedious to get it adjusted back for SAO. As one old timer says, that is a Lever Action part. As in leave 'er alone.

Shooting At Fort Stewart Today in Georgia.

Best likely outcome. I don't guess he could do the Danny Deever for multiple attempted murder.

    .45 ACP cast target loads

So did my FLG until he went to N310. I recall that old AR article. It would not be a lot of help, most shooters just used a suitable amount of Bullseye, 3.5-4 grains for a 185-200 gr SWC. The few that didn't mostly used P5066 or leftover No 5 or No 6.

I will rummage them out or enter my model number on their www.

Need help identifying old S&W .38 Special

Ammo is wadcutters, all the cases have the same double cannelure Winchester used for midrange wadcutters so may well be factory. Or reloads in selected brass.

Need help identifying old S&W .38 Special

And tell him not to leave it in the leather holster, you can see where it has tarnished the nickel plated cylinder a bit.

    A "Cowboy" M&P

Could Hollywood make Ad and Plinky Topperwein into a crime fighting duo?

    Pod coffee machines

On my second Keurig, the first lasted a good number of years, I don't even recall when I got it. The second one is doing ok but it has a "descale" light. So I did but the light did not go out. I googled and that is a common fault. When this one fails, I will get an electric kettle and dig...

    A "Cowboy" M&P

And here is steely eyed Clu Gulager with a similar dummy ejector rod on a Hand Ejector. I had an old Gun Digest with an article on prop guns. There were a lot like that. There was even a New Service with the grip frame modified to "plow handle" so it would look right in the holster. Also...

    SIG P320 Discharges?

I have been told that I am relying on social media gossip about so called failures of P320. By Facebook posters.

    Tactical Reloads for Revolvers

IDPA used to love the Tac Load and I worked on it a good bit. But even they treated the revolver as a red headed stepchild, the printed recommendation for a partial reload of a revolver was "Eject the contents of the cylinder into your hand, dump the whole mess in a pocket, reload as usual."...

    Interesting 5" Pre-27 357 Magnum

Still cooking after a year, I see. OK I will add that the tip of the strain screw is mushroomed a bit like it had been pressing on a hard leaf spring for a while. Does this mean that the "U" spring was an add-on?

    Confiscated Firearms

Same deal. A friend has his late brother's guns, except the one he shot himself with and the one he apparently had laid out as an alternate or backup. On the other hand, my late Uncle was very proud of the revolver that had been used to kill a man, justifiably or not, I don't have the whole...

    SIG P320 Discharges?

I respect Bruce and he did nice work on my P226 but he has a vested interest in P320 as the high volume current model he has parts and service for.

    Confiscated Firearms

Back when gun shows were worth the trip, there was a table of parts sets in baggies. I see two scenarios. You are willing to buy a whole set of parts to get one essential item. You think you can find a frame to assemble them back into a gun.

    SIG P320 Discharges?

Apologists for the P320 are citing the old movie line "Hundreds and hundreds of times, ain't nothing happened at all."

    Confiscated Firearms

The PD here puts seized guns in their "reference collection" presumably for the cops to study how to unload the next time they grab one. Uninteresting guns and duplicates are probably scrapped, definitely not sold to put their criminal habits back "on the street". The outfit I worked for...

    Info on revolver

Buffed hard and reblued. There are a lot of excuses given for the off color, Brownells says it it usually due to out of range temperature in the tank.
