    SR-4756 in 357

The only Smith I ever wrecked was with SR4756. But likely it was just youthful exuberance. Perhaps wrecked is an overstatement. The cylinder opened with a medium sized mallet. Unfortunately, the mallet was not big enough to get the case out.....

Recieved a letter back from a manufacture about primer shortage

Loose lips sink ships. Who knows what panic would arise if consumers were to actually know if or when a product would be available.

    Aguila .38 Especial brass

Thanks for making me feel less self conscious about dumpster diving. My wife will help me pick up brass off the ground, but she walks away when I take the lid off the trash cans and start digging for the bottom. Howard

    Question about M22-4 grips

The magna style accompanied by a tyler grip adapter works pretty well. That is what I have on my 1917. Howard

    Hi Viz Sights

I have a 686 SSR which has interchangable front sight blades. Brownells has replacement fo front blades in several heights. Can anyone advise on the proper height to use with the stock rear sight? SPECS: Steel, black, matte finish. .813" (20.6mm) long. Available in .208", .250", and .310"...

APD has recently switched to M&P 40s. Previously they had a DAO Smith 40.

    Pistol Brass Manufacturers Quality

I concur with Flash and Steve. I dont even like to contaminate my recycle junk with AMERC. Leave it at the range. Other than that I will use pretty much anything I find, but if I had to resort to actually buying the stuff, Starline.

    Can you crimp to hard?

Dillon Precision dies while designed for a progressive also work well in a single stage as they are designed to seat and crimp as seperate stages. Since likely you already have a set of 3, adding either the seat or crimp die from Dillon to the set is relatively inexpensive since they can be...

    best reloading magazine?

Handloader, Precision Shooting, and Rifle in that order. PS & Rifle both slanted towards rifle topics. Until their change of ownership a year or so ago I would have added Shooting Times to the list, but they have become as superficial as Guns & Ammo. Way back when even the American Rifleman...

    Nyclad 38+P 125gr H.P.

The gun store I frequent has several boxes of new Federal Nyclad 38+P. It is a peculiar box, very plain, white with single color printing. Not at all like Federals typical boxes. Howard

What brand/model chronograph do you use?

I also have an Oehler 35P I got around 1990 or so and it still works fine. My question is - why are they no longer available? Too many cheaper options? thanks, Howard

    Yesterday was a GOOD day...

Any day you get a new toy is a good day. Does this one have one of the evil "high capacity" cylinders? Howard

    Powder for .223?

I too have had excellent success with A2230. Also there was a surplus version C2230 which was just a bit slower, but not as much as 2520. I used it with 69Sie and 73 bergers for 2/300 yd lines in Highpower. And as others have said, it meters exceptionally well. Howard

Showing off some Stainless guns-A few pics.

I gotta show these pictures to my wife. She'll stop complaining. Say bravastar - did the 66-5 come with those sights? What is the barrel length? thanks, Howard

    Does it Really Matter?

Andy, Thanks for the suggestion regarding the lock search. Obviously it is an opinion question, but I was just curious if someone could actually document "trouble" related to the lock. thanks again. Howard

    Does it Really Matter?

I have both pre-lock and M21 & M22s with the lock. From an asthetic perspective, I much prefer the no lock guns, but I don't like the two part barrel & shrouds either. But, has anyone really seen any performance or other issues with the guns with locks? Howard.

The often mentioned unsupported chamber issue G17 and MP9

I have and load for both Glock & M&P in 9mm. IMO, it is not a concern in 9mm with any reasonable or moderately unreasonable load. I have not had any issues with 40 S&W loads, but I tend to be middle of the chart regarding load selection. I have had chambering issues with both calibers, but...
