I bought and installed 3; Models 60,617, & 686. The fit and finish is perfect and I couldn't be more pleased. These are my main "shooters" and although I never had a lock issue, it was a small price to pay to eliminate that possibility. Great product.

Love your wood combats! However practical the rubber grips are, they just don't have the appeal of a nice set of wood or stag.

I have found it very consistent with some powders and a little less with others. Overall it works fine unless you need a charge that measures "in-between" the disc sizes. Just remember to turn off the powder hopper and run a few cycles into an empty case BEFORE changing discs.

I think you will be happy with your decision; the .45 Colt is a joy to shoot and still capable of handling any realistic handgun duty.

Here's my "plugged" 617 and 686; The flash makes the stainless plug stand out more than it shows up when actually looking at it.

Since you prefer stainless and 4" barrels; I would start searching for a 617, and Mountain guns in of each "4" calibers. You will have plenty of company as even for shooter grades the 617 and Mountain guns seem to be in high demand right now.

The Mountain gun is my favorite; so I am with you on a preference for fluted cylinders and half length underlugs. But it's nice to have options to choose from.

All very good choices, but a 2" Model 60 works just fine for me year round.

The classic grips make the gun! I have Sambar's on my .45 Colt Mountain gun and wish I could find and afford a set to put on my 6 shot 617.

Thats about as good as it gets!
