    Guess I’m a dinosaur

I like 1911's, but it is very hard to beat a good revolver, especially an older model Colt or S&W.

    Evidence over Hysteria

A lot of younger families with children, or any family who has a mortgage. or a lot of medical expenses can't afford to be out of work for two or three weeks, without dire financial problems. I think a lot of governors are wrong in shutting businesses and telling people they can't go to work. I...

    Info needed

Went to a local gun shop today and found a S&W model 10-8, with round butt, 4" heavy barrel, with original S&W over sized target stocks. It is blued and like new condition. I've been using S&W revolvers since 1965, and have seen a lot of model 10's with round butt's, but never with a heavy...

    Removing the lock

I got rid of the two revolvers that had the lock, because I did not like them, and did not feel that they were needed. However, I would have serious reservations about removing any safety device that the gun had. If you ever used it for protection and were sued, you may regret doing it.

    4 S&W $

Those are beautiful guns, but it may be hard to sell them for what they are valued at. Recently I've tried to sell a S&W and a Colt revolver, both guns are almost as new, and are both older models that collectors prefer. I've had zero interest in either of them. I usually check Arms List daily...

    FOCUS ON THE CRIMINAL

South Carolina has fairly liberal gun laws, and they work very well. Also, it is quite easy to get a concealed weapons permit. As a retired police officer I have no problems with our gun laws, however, I do have reservations about open carry, because you will usually have a problem with some...

    NRA

What is happening with the NRA? I've been a member for over40 years, and send donations fairly often. I've had some reservations in the past, but am really concerned since Oliver North was apparently forced out. I've not seen any explanations in any of their magazines, but every week I get...

    Secret Service selects.....

I fail to see any good reason to buy any Glock. For officer safety the M&P models are made with a manual safety and a magazine disconnect safety. They are also made in America.

Don't buy new Smiths, just keep looking for the old ones in good condition.

Help, the LGS has a Colt Marshal

That price sounds about right, providing the action locks up tight. The Marshal should have a round butt, where as the Official Police has a square butt. They were manufactured between 1954 to 1956, they only made about 2500 of them.

    10-5 freckling.

I bought a gun in that condition and thought it was a minor problem, but it was pitted under the freckling. You can't always tell until you remove the problem.

I've now cleaned all my guns. My M520 was the last one.

Beautiful gun, I've never actually seen one in person, but would sure like to have one.

    The Once Great Remington

Many years ago I got fed up with the quality of Remington 870's, so started buying FN shotguns for department issue. Never had problems with the FN's.

...Los Angeles 1935..."Dump 'em in the Ocean"...

It's a shame that many departments destroy seized weapons instead of selling to FFL dealers and using the proceeds to purchase new duty weapons, or other police equipment.
