    Shield Holsters

I use the MTR Custom Leather dual carry. It's form fitted to the Shield, reholsters easily, and is comfortable and tuckable. I usually carry IWB but have used the OWB option when dressed heavy for cold weather.

    40 shield kabooms

I plan on using unique and cast 165 gr trunicated cone if I do reload for mine. Loads would be mild, just enough to cycle the action. Unique should fill the case to the point that an overcharge would overflow. I use unique in my 38 and 45 and have quite a bit of it.

    40 shield kabooms

Purchased a 40 Shield. Was looking for a Taurus PT 740 slim. Bought the Shield spur of the moment. It felt better in the hand. Picked up a MTR Leather IWB holster and 2 extra magazines. This has become my favorite and is my EDC. Now my concern. It seems that every time I come to this forum I...

Unable to manually lock M&P Shield slide

Had the same issue with my 40 Shield. I thought there was something blocking it also. I found out you have to snatch the slide back, it does not like to be babied!

    OWB Holstersfor Shield

I use the MTR Cuistom Leather Dual Carry http://mtrcustomleather.net/gun-holsters/ I like it because of the option to carry IWB when needed, but it easily converts to a OWB when practical. It is also comfortable and does not dig into my oversized midsection like some others do.

Angled IWB 4 o'clock Shield Holster.

I carry at the 4 o'clock position and use the MTR Custom Leather dual carry. It is molded for the Sheild and fits like a glove. Has enough cant to make it easy to draw. It does not, however, orient the pistol in your desired position. A left handed version, in my opinion, would make it hard to...

    Shield Reassembly Issue

Having a problem with the reassembly of my 40 Shield. The slide wants to hang up a fraction of an inch before the the slide lock and take down lever lines up with the recesses in the slide.. Feels like it is hitting a hard stop, absolutely will not go back any further. If i keep racking the...

    40 S&W Shield Carry ammo?

There is research that suggests 180 gr will not expand when used in short barrel 40,s. I would stay with 155, or 165 gr hollowpoints. My preference is Hornady XTP.

    Opinions wanted...shield 40 or 9

I would go with the 40. I just did the same. 9mm has not been exactly hard to get around here, but you need to buy it when you see it. 40 seems to always be on the shelf.
